Sandee29 reacted to Jean E. in A Lotta Brachioplasty Questions
Congratulations on your weightloss. I had the arms and thighs done at the same time almost 3 months ago. Let me see if I can answer some of your questions from my experience.
1. I had a drain in each arm for a week.
2. I was able to work from home after a week and a half.
3. Pain was about a 6 but frustration of limitations was worse. If they have to do Lipo the pain and recovery is worse. I didn’t have that. My incisions extend from below my elbow down the side of my chest about 4 inches.
4. I didn’t wait long at all after reaching my goal. (Have lost 305 lbs.)
5. Insurance paid
6. It’s a life changer
7. All companies are differentl. Take lots of pics, document, and visit your PCP if you get rashes so they are on medical record. Don’t self medicate. Insurance companies don’t like paying for those creams and such so this may help them decide to pay for the surgery.
8. The surgery should tighten both tris and bis. But it is important to work out those arms so they have good muscle structure and form to shape that skin around.
Good luck! Enjoy the ride.

Now I’ve crushed my first goal and on to the final. 150! I am at 164 and so happy. Thanks for reading.

Sandee29 reacted to carlab in My birthday gift to me
A year ago, I was getting ready for gastric sleeve surgery. I was tired, fat and unhealthy. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was in insulin dependent diabetic. I was on antidepressants.
January 9, 2018 was the day my life changed. And now I’m LIVING!
i work out 5-6 days per week, I love kickboxing! I’m down nearly 100 lbs and I feel younger than ever. I’m off all medication and according to my lab work, I’m a whole new woman.
For those of you who are considered sugery, DO IT! Be ready to change everything about your current life. My biggest obstacle has been my brain. Changing the way I think about life. About food. About who i have in my life.
I found my life. My value. Find yours!!

Sandee29 reacted to katiemarie22 in 3 Months Post Op
I was sleeved October 2018 - about 3 months ago. I was self pay in Mexico, and although the surgery went well, I developed complications about 2 weeks out, and spent the next 2 weeks after that in the hospital. Since then, I've been slowly losing the weight. Haven't stalled yet, and have been able to do so much that I never thought I would have been able to do - things like buy a shirt in the regular section of the store, go to the gym and actually enjoy it, and wrap a towel all the way around my body after a shower. A few people have commented on my weight loss, but I'll be honest, that when I look in the mirror, I don't really see a difference. I'm about half way to my goal weight.
Taking these before and after pics really helped me to see the difference, so I wanted to share them!

Thank you! My thigh incision is from my knee all the way up through my groin. I am glad you are consulting with several surgeons. They need to know exactly what they are doing. Especially with the legs. And they need to be specialized in post weight loss surgery. Apparently the skin is different with patients who were obese and those surgeons know how to beat handle and get the best results. I love my surgeon. They have been fully transparent and very open with information and they did a great job. I live in Houston. Yes, I would do it again.

Wow! Looks great!! I looked back at the pics in the beginning of the post -WOW! What an amazing transformation from before your surgery. This is your reward for all the work you put into your weight loss journey (too bad they don't include this in the package as a bonus).
Congrats!!!!

First of all, good luck with your journey!
To be honest with you- I️ have no regrets and there really isn’t anything I️ wish I’d known. It’s all a learning experience and you learn as you go through your journey. They keep saying the first year is a gift - I’m not sure what that means- so I’m thinking I️ need to stay with my new habits I️ have made a part of my life this year -exercise and eating habits.

I wish I had known that this is more of a mental battle than a physical one..... I am 8mos. post op (On Nov.20th) and even though I've passed my "goal weight" I still struggle everyday with SOMETHING.... "Am I too thin", "will I be able to keep it off forever " etc etc.. BUT I NEVER thought I would be this size and honestly I have NOT embraced it yet but I'm proud of myself and I would do it all over again!!
