    Wedding dinner advice...

Hi Merm- we had the same surgery date. . My dr had me on thin liquids for days 1-3, then thick liquids days 4-13, now I'm in the mushy food stage days 14-20 and days 21+ will be soft foods leading into regular foods. I'm now on mushy foods and I'm having a hard time w/ how much to eat. I had tilapia for dinner tonight and I feel like it sat in my chest for over 2 hours, so I guess I ate too much -. How much have you lost since the surgery? I'm down 20. If you want to keep in touch- my email is slpsandy@yahoo.com Good luck at the wedding! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Mushy foods stage

Today was my first day on mushy foods and I had egg salad. It sat in my stomach and I had a full feeling for 2 hours after I ate it, so for dinner I had soup instead of a piece of fish I was planning on.
  6. I had my sleeve on 12/21/16. I stayed in the hospital overnight. I did not have any gas pain, nausea or soreness. Very odd- I was expecting to be sore at my incision sites, but grateful for none of the above. My dr. gives all his patients a nausea patch before the surgery which I was told was very helpful. Good luck! Think good thoughts!
  7. My surgery was 2 weeks ago. When I eat or drink too much I feel pain in the middle of my chest - almost as if the food is staying in my esophagus. So I'm thinking that's my sign that I'm full.
  8. I was told that if I had a desk job, I could go back to work within a week. If you do more physical work, they stress "no lifting" so they told me to take 4 weeks off. I feel totally fine and did so 2 days after surgery so it's weird not going back. I work with autistic kids and some of them require physical assistance when they walk in the halls. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
