I had my sleeve on March 7 and I asked the Lord to go before me and smooth things with all the people and things that I would have to be engaged in and he answered my prayers. The first couple of
Hours were a little rough but after that hump it seem to be al little more tolerable. I came home Thursday morning and have been doing well. Just remember to keep hydrated, breath and walk and let your body do the rest

I have lost well over 100 pounds on 3 occasions, not to mention the countless tines I've lost 10-30 pounds. I have a 100% failure rate at keeping it off. My hope is this will help me keep it off. Without surgery you have about a 2% chance of maintaining a 100+ pound loss for 5 years. That tells me trying to do it on my own yet again was a waste of time and energy.

At 17 days out I'm still a little in the "what the hell did I do?" stage. But I know it'll get better. So I listen to those who are years out and would do it again in a heartbeat. I want to be that person someday.

I even tried the strawberry, its a little too sweet for me since I have cut pop and diet pop out of diet. Never thought I'd say that, but the chocolate is the best so far, and I have added ice and a little fat free milk to the strawberry which helps, Premier Protein is the best so far.

So far, premier chocolate shake is not terrible. I can actually get that down. The vanilla is awful to me though. I bought a bottle each of choc and vanilla muscle milk to try. Also have a bunch of Syntrax to try. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!

I've scheduled my"hernia" surgery next month. It is the truth but I've left out the rny. My weight loss is the key to being free of diabetes and high BP and easily explained with yet another diet/exercise program. Lol I love my cpap machine so much I cannot imagine wanting to quit using it...

pvechiola reacted to Navigating the Wilderness in High fructose corn syrup is the devil.
I thought I would share some anecdotal information with the rest of the group.
On Wednesday I had a bad sore throat so I had a couple lozenges to help it out. The next day I had splitting headaches and was hungry all day. I just couldn't figure out WTF was going on as I had not experienced this issue at all since surgery.
I went over what I had eaten over the last few days and realized the only thing I had done differently was the lozenges. So, I grabbed the bag (which was from way before I decided to have surgery) and looked at the ingredients, of course High fructose corn Syrup was ingredient number one.
I just wanted to share with everyone this concrete example on just how horrible high fructose corn syrup is. Of course most of us know and avoid this evil substance, but I wanted to shine a light on the fact that just 2 small lozenges essentially made me ill for two days. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to those who think "Maybe I can eat just one piece of candy and it won't hurt." It will hurt, save yourself the trouble.
    Stay healthy!!

Popsicles and ice chips are helpful in the beginning. That way you're getting some Water and the cooling from it kind of helps things going down the pipe.
Your energy is going to be low for the first two weeks. You're barely taking anything in and you're body has just undergone a major change. Each individual is going to recovery differently, but you should start to see a change soon enough in how you're feeling. The first week really sucked for me, but the second week I started to see a difference and from there it got better and better.

I'll agree. They have the best customer service department I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
I'm on my 4th Fitbit device (upgrades due to changing technology) and have had two stellar incidents with them. Fitbit Charge with the same issues as OP replaced at no charge, one week shy of one year warranty ending and last month, replacement of my Charge 2 because of charging problems. No questions asked, product replaced with no hassle. Wish more companies offered customer service like Fitbit!

You go girl! I am greakung my addiction to sugar just like the alcoholics....one day at a time. My surgery will be in August. I said goodbye to sodas and fast food years ago,,even my beloved pizza Hut, who moved right down the street as soon as I stopped eating it!!! Talk about ironic. Before it was a 15 mile ride to get Pizza Hut, now they deliver to my door!!!
Ughhhh, I feel like Alanis Morissette singing, " Traffic jam, picking up my pizza late, but now home delivery well isnt this great. Because now its 10,000 salads and not a hot pizza in sight, ....Feeling positive because I am doing my body right!!!.....isnt it ironic, ,yeah a little too ironic. well I really do think !
LOL, FEEL THE POWER BREAKING THE ADDICTION!!
I have a saying I repeat everyday because it is a day to day walk to break the addiction. "NO Cookies, NO candy NO SUGAR NO SWEETS" over and over ...it helps.:)
    GOD Bless!

Good for you! I also had a "breakup" with certain foods myself over a week ago when I began my pre-op diet. My surgery is next Wednesday on the 15th and honestly the pr-op diet has not been as hard as I thought I would be, thank you Jesus. Trust me I have been praying for God's help in this because I loved sweets lol, but since beginning this pre-op diet I have not been craving the sweets as I did before. Sometimes I do like last night, but I made me some Protein ice-cream with 1 c of unsweetened almond milk, which is only 1 carb, and 1 scoops of Isopure, chocolate protein, which is 0 carbs, and 2c of ice, and blend it all up in your blender. It gave me my protein and cured my craving for chocolate. So yes, this is very doable, we've just got to look for foods/recipes that are a healthy alternative to our cravings and fit into our lives. We can't look at as losing weight means losing our favorite foods, we have to look at losing weight as gaining a healthy lifestyle that will result in a fuller life. We can do this!

Good bye. ..McDonald's Sweet Tea. I will miss your sweetness. You are my most favorite drink in the world. I spent good money on you week after week. But that's all over.
Good bye....candy. Oh candy. Our relationship is almost 40 years old. Many times you have been my best friend. Any and all types of candy. I have loved you all. There is something so fabulous about eating candy...but the reality is that you were a bandaid to my life. If I got upset, happy, mad or sad...you were always there. But that's all over.
Good bye Cool Ranch Doritos and Lime Tostitos. You two were good for a night time hang out. But that's all over.
Good bye Soda...esp Wild Cherry Pepsi. I mean come on your WILD and quick and easy to find at every check out aisle in every store. But that's all over.
Today I am breaking up with all of you. I am starting my Day 1 of PreOp. Your power and control over me are no more. I am ready to make new friends. Friends that will take care of my body, heal my body, nourish my body....not slowly try to kill me. You and I have had a lifetime together. But your time has ended and mine is just beginning....and you will not have any power left over me.
    Sincerely,
The girl who loved you too much but realizes she deserves more.

Yes I could easily get shot in Chicago quicker than getting this surgery. When I tell her to read up on it she wants nothing to do with it, she just wants me to change my mind and I'm almost done I'm not backing down. I even have a have a friend go to surgery with me she says she wants no part of it.
