    Thyroid Question

I'm hypo as well and take 200 micros of thyroxine a day. Reduce on weekends now though due to my weight loss after vsg. I had no issues losing and was nearly at goal weight around 2-2.5 months after my op. Being a low BMIer. But have been stuck for ages at my current weight. Sleeved 5/ dec 16. Thyroid getting tested again this week

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

I wanted to know if I would be on display too lol.. answer was a def no and I didn't have to wear weird undies like some have to wear the hospital ones. No catheter either ( thank god) I would have put it in a heart shape if the answer was a yes for " will it be on display!" Lol...

  8. You have to eat a **** load of protein before your kidneys may be effected and that's with kidney issues to begin with..

    Not being able to eat!?

You shouldn't be eating yet anyway.. I wasn't until well over a week. What your doing is exactly what you are suppose to be doing. You won't feel a full feeling yet as you are on liquids , it's really bizarre I know lol When ever u want to drink the broth or water u can.. don't leave it too long in between lie more then a few hours especially if your in a hot region.. I'm in Australia so I always was drinking lol Go by what ever your Dr or dietician has said.. you will be ok!! [emoji5]

    Discouraged 8mo

No such thing as starvation mode. We all eat so little having this surgery yet none of us are starving and still losing unless we plateau for what ever reason.
  16. Sleeved 5/12/16.. I lost my weight quite fast and have had 2 stalls. I more or less at my ideal weight and BMI and have been for weeks. 14 weeks post op now

    Self Control with Food addicts

It will not fix any kind of food addiction or sugar cravings. You still need to watch what eat even more with the sleeve. All meals have to be nutritional as you can fit so little in. You don't want to waste that space with crap. But I find I snack more so in the arvo. Not because I'm hungry but well just because!!.. I have never needed an excuse to eat. Having adult kids in the house we still have crap and I'm tempted every damn day with that. Trying to lose weight before and doing what I'm doing now hasn't changed. I have lost the majority of my weight though and wouldn't change my decision about getting the sleeve. Any kind of weightloss journey is a life long journey. Unless ya born skinny with an awesome metabolism we are all on the same boat.

    Help after surgery???

For myself I didn't need any help. I was cleaning from the time I got home lol. Although I became fatigued quickly. I forgot I wasn't allowed to pick heavy things up or mop the floor but both I did. Everyone is different and honestly you won't know until you are home. But you would be in bed when your hubby is at work and getting up for the loo is no problems. Have you got young children that need picking up? That maybe a problem.

When did your head hunger stop?

Wow this is me too... I get home and regardless if I've eaten I'll want to eat!

    Watermelon

If you are hungry you eat food. Your body is pretty well designed to know what it needs. Unless it's the dreaded "head games" of head hunger where we just want to eat. I never drink if I'm hungry ...

When did your head hunger stop?

I'm only 14 weeks out and I feel it's never going to go away... I battle every single day with head hunger
  22. erica_ozzy73

    Diet coke

Unfortunately the aspartame or any kind of fake sugar will stop your ability to beat the sugar addiction. Also it also makes your body crave more food.. Its a vicious circle. Not saying having a can once a week is bad but everyday is not a good idea. I have a bad sugar addiction and still struggle. But I won't have any cool drink or anything carbonated

Over a month stall - need advice

How do you know your body is still in shock?.. sounds strange
  24. So I don't always track what I eat in fact I rarely do. In the beginning ( nearly 14 weeks ago) I was so in tune with what I was having. Gradually that has worn off. The weight was coming off slowly so tracking didn't seem to matter. Then started the bit n pieces of "slider" foods. I had read about this in others stories and would think "oh never would I let myself be like that".... how wrong I was. The potato chips and small biscuits seem to go down with no issues. I wasn't sick and it didn't fill me up so what was the problem. Peanut paste then started to become a favourite snack straight off the spoon. It's ok it's protein!!.. Icecream was another easy food to go down and it seemed to help my sweet cravings as I was only having a little so what did it matter?.. A bit here and there soon became more and more!!.. Today i decided to track what I had eaten as best I could.. to own what I was doing.. the damage I was doing. You see like most of us here that decided to get this procedure I have a food addiction. Something that is NOT fixed by having a sleeve. They take some of your stomach not the part of your brain that controls this. I have really no clue how to fix it but maybe the best I can do is to some how control it. That's hard!!.. Nope I didn't have counselling before my sleeve to help me. I honestly thought I could do it alone. I feel now I am more consumed with "food" then I ever was. What a shit position to be in. So today I was so over my Carb intake it was terrible. My protein intake low... and my fats should of been more. If I was counting calories I'd say at 1400 Cals was too much for me. But from now and into tomorrow and beyond I shall be accountable for what I put into my mouth. Yeah I'll stuff up a little but mostly I shall be on track. Food addiction is a hard one as we need it to survive and can't get away from it..
  25. For number 2s??.. I didn't have any issues
