  1. Hi! I'm currently just starting my puréed stage as well. I go back and forth between constipation and diarrhea, and it really doesn't seem to have any correlation with what I eat. I totally feel your pain. My surgeon has me at 80 grams of Protein a day. For me, that means three premier Protein shakes and whatever other protein fortified puréed foods I can handle. I had refried Beans for the first time today, and puréed chicken salad. I was able to tolerate both! I know it's a struggle, but staying away from high fat stuff really helps me. I use non-fat fair life milk, and low fat cheeses in a scrambled egg. Switching to a milk substitute might help too. I'm so sorry you're struggling but it will get better! I felt similar to you for the first week or so, so I know how bad it feels to feel like you can't do anything. It will get better!

    Anti-Anxiety/Depression Medacation

It shouldn't be a problem. The only medicines I've been told to avoid are NSAIDS like ibuprofen
  3. HEY! I just had my surgery at Rex with Dr. Ng on the 14th of December! Good to see another North Carolinian.

    DS-ers! Question about food intake!

I'm about two weeks post op, and I can eat about one egg at a time. I've tried to eat two and I can't haha, but I do find that I'm hungry more often, so I eat those small amounts throughout the day.
  5. In my opinion, the DS is the best surgery out there. I had mine a few weeks ago, and I already couldn't be happier. I feel great, I'm lighter on my feet, and I've already lost 25 pounds. It could really be a game changer if the sleeve isn't working for you. The sleeve typically has a lower success rate and a really high weight regain rate. The switch does not.
  6. Our class was long that day. You have to learn how to eat during your pre-op diet and directly after surgery. They will probably also go over what to expect in the hospital, and after surgery. It was super informative! The preop testing wasn't bad. Mine only took an hour. I had some blood work and an EKG and they asked a lot of questions and that was it! Good luck!
