Finding_Stacy got a reaction from krs1 in Vacation (Spain & Italy) 4 weeks after Surgery
I went on a cruise in April and my doctor made me hold off on the surgery until I got back. He wanted six weeks of no flying after surgery because of the risk of blood clots (even though I was on lovenox twice a day). I could've had it in February, but I ended up having the surgery two weeks after I got back in April--which actually worked out for the best. I'm a big believer in 'things happen for a reason'. If I were you, go on vacation and enjoy the Pasta, pizza, and wine. Because, let me tell you, life changes in a big way afterwards.

    Good luck!

insurance. Yes they paid for all of my LBL. Insurance has changed some I'm currently waiting on approval for legs. I'll definitely go back to Zachary for legs if I get approval. he did a great job on my LBL.

Definitely got your reply. Congrats on making the very courageous decision to change your life. We all know how hard that decision is but trust me you will be so glad you did.

Sorry you're experiencing that early stall. I did too and it is frustrating but happens to so many. It's temporary so keep the faith!!! Sounds like your doing the right things. I know I had trouble getting in my Water in the beginning as I'm a chugger and that wasn't happening right after surgery. It gets easier.

Yes I started walking sooooo slowly. My first walk post op I couldn't even make it around my cup de sac let alone a block. Try to remember you're probably taking in less than 1000 calories a day right now so having little energy is to be expected. Hang in there!!!! You've just had a huge surgery, bigger than those little laparoscopic scars indicate. So try to stay focused on healing right now, following your Dr's diet plan for you, and getting your water in. If you wear a tracker to track your steps, set small goals, just a little further than last week is a win.

Hang in there. And reach out again if I can be of further help. You've got a long exciting road in front of you. Take pictures so you can see your progress and enjoy the journey!!!!

I love my new life but I still say the losing was more fun than the keeping it off. it's a marathon not a sprint and my best advice is take this time to create new habits. Making this diet a lifestyle. I no longer feel like I'm on a diet, this is just how I eat now.

Best wishes. And know we're out here cheering you on.

I wanted to ask you, since my insurance said they pay for skin removal too if the extra skin becomes a problem. Did your insurance pay for your entire lbl, or just the 'skin removal' part?
I read some insurances who pay for skin removal won't pay for anything they deem cosmetic, like a belly button etc. I've also read some people even got insurance to pay for their breast surgeries as well. I hope I'm in that boat.
And are you happy with your results? Would you go to Dr. Zachary again?

Finding_Stacy got a reaction from achievinggoals17 in This waiting game!
The waiting game is the worst. I had all my tests done before my first appointment on December 17th, 2016. It took two months before they finally got to my file, but once they submitted for approval, I got the acceptance in five hours. I think initially it's a slow haul, but soon it will fly by. Good luck!

Finding_Stacy reacted to New Beginnings 78 in Got my insurance approval & cried like I won the lottery July 20th
I started this journey 5/9/17 after years of denial. This year I made the realistic decision to walk in the Dr. Office asking for help with now a possible death sentence. After the traumatic fire lost after a new marriage, I realized that I could have dead in the fire. I am expecting a longer healthy life. My son got married this year and couldn't imagine not being able to enjoy my grandkids. I'm excited about my NEW BEGINNING!

My Dr. Office scheduled my surgery before approval so I am not on pre op diet. My clearance came to my husband phone while in the chest xray 🙇 what is the required days of pre op diet?
    Greetings to ALL!

Finding_Stacy reacted to travelergirl in I'm gaining weight now now 7 weeks out
While on a cruise I did weigh myself. But I didn't care what the starting weight was. I knew it wouldn't match my home scale. I just weighed in every 3 or so days to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Comparing my new weight to the starting weight helped me avoid anxiety that I was totally off plan. Cruise was 16 days plus travel time etc....21 days between Dr office weigh ins and I lost 4lbs while on vacation.

Woah! Surgery completed successfully! I've been knocked out most ofthe day, so I'm just getting to respond.
Here's a few tips, Ive learned thus far:

    1. BRING LIP BALM
    2. MUST HAVE THE GAS STRIOS
    3. DON'T FORGET A ROBE, UNLESS YOU LIKE TO SHOW YOUR BUTT...LOL
    4. WALK, WALK, AND THEN WALK SOME MORE. THIS TECHNIQUE PLUS THE GAS STRIPS...PRICELESS.
    5. Try to RELAX...although easier said than done. ..

My pain is minimal for now. I've been sipping on hot Water, cold water and my beloved ice chips. No hungry craving.
Maybe I'll admit, I was worried for nothing.

Good luck to each of you!

Gas X strips are a life saver!! If there were any advice I needed that a doctor didn't give me, it would be the gas x strips

Keep in mind that you're only 186.6 pounds. It's funny, that is the goal weight my doctor wants me at. Sigh, it feels like I'm never going to get there. But, when you only have 20-30 pounds to lose, the weight will come off much slower than if you had a couple hundred pounds to lose, like myself. I'm sure you're doing great. Don't beat yourself up too badly.
I thought I was losing slowly last month, because I didn't see a change for a week, but then I saw seven the following week. But when I looked at my chart, I did lose 20 pounds my second month even though it felt like I only lost 10. It's all a mind game. Hang in there. If it were easy, then everyone would be doing it. This weight loss thing is for the brave of heart and the strong willed

FYI, I upped my fluids yesterday by 20 oz and dropped two pounds. Now, if it's connected, I don't know.

Watch Dr Weiner's clips on YouTube,he's got 20+ on there. There's pre-op guidance through to 1 year post-op. I have found his advise invaluable, amazing guy.

Completely normal. Like everyone else said, educate yourself thoroughly going in, and also, stay away from what can go wrong. I, myself, never read any of that stuff because I didn't even want it in my head. I watched a ton of before and afters on YouTube, so as on surgery day, I was actually giddy with excitement.
Yes, I was still nervous, but I was 95% ready to start a new life and reclaim myself again. So, I say, hit the YouTube's before and afters and that will reenergize your decision, pushing those wayward thoughts to the back of your mind where they belong.
    Good Luck!!

Keep in mind you don't have very much weight to lose, if you're indeed 174 right now, and you've already taken off 31--which is fantastic. You're not going to lose at the same rate as someone like myself who was starting at 225 pounds to lose. I think you're right on track with eating and drinking. That's where I'm at right now and I'm a month out. I remember being shocked, and a little sad, when I was able to eat a cup of yogurt or drink a Protein Shake within a half hour. liquids pretty much go right through your stomach, and you can eat more yogurt than, lets say, chicken breast. Once you start eating real meat and real food, you'll find that you eat less than the soft stuff, feel full longer, and will probably start losing again.
Our bodies just need a break around 2-3 weeks, but keep the Water up, up, up and it will pick up again.
