Sorry I have not been around much for the Month of May. It has been a busy month. I am trying to buy my first investment property, as a well as my workload picking up. Some things that I changed. I bought dresses. I continue to work a lot. I am now known as a "Gym Rat" which I wear proudly. I dyed my hair blonde because I was bored.

My jeans were literally starting to fall off me, so I caved today and bought a pair of 26/28s to hold me over until capri weather hits, hopefully in the next few weeks.
The important part, though, is that I bought them at WALMART! I haven't been able to buy pants there in YEARS because they didn't go to my size. Unfortunately, I still had to pay $17 (so much better than the $60ish at Catherine's though), because the 26s that were on clearance for $9 were still too small to be comfortable. SOON, though!

Oh yes, appearance is good for business, I get ya! I don’t really work now, so leggings and T-shirt’s is all I ever wear. I’ve decided that my church attire needs to be amped up from my regular attire. Lol. Gonna try to find some dresses. How about dresses? Do you like them? They can be forgiving, as you go down in size, I think.

Anyone ever tried protein pancakes (the kind that just needs water added)? Bought the mix and im afraid to be disappointed...

Lol. On your birthday!? I’d say regular pancakes instead but definitely not promoting them! Ha! I hope they’re good when you do try them!

So, getting finances in order, I managed to sell my 2016 Toyota Avalon. It was a beautiful car, of which surprisingly, I’m doing fine without and I actually don’t miss it; and also of which resulted in having a one-vehicle household, which resulted in me HAVING to walk 2.2 miles everyday 5x a week to get my daughter to school. I’m actually quite glad, I’m feeling better/stronger again, and I dropped almost $20,000 of debt. WIN-WIN!

Lol. Cute...I like that “awesome sauce!” @Sleeve1stFitNext!
@FluffyChix there’s so much that I probably wouldn’t have done if I didn’t have this surgery! I’m still so glad I did too. I seem to work better when being “forced” in to situations. Lol
@Creekimp13, we’re Toyota lovers here. A former Avalon, and two former Tundras...currently on our third Tundra...and have always had a car payment! Ugh! We’re doing this Dave Ramsey program that’s making a lot of sense to us and so there went the Avalon. Also in the process of maybe getting a cash car...speaking of which, you were hugely blessed for what you found! Wow! That’s the kind of deal I want. I told the hubby not to buy one yet though, I’m enjoying the walks and the time with my kids walking. Definitely good habits being taught. 😊
@Mattymatt thanks hon! Its hard to be in the dumps when there’s a win on both sides! Yay!!!

I almost caved today at Walmart for some pants, but I just couldn’t do it. I keep thinking how many times will I actually wear them before I have to go down a size. Technically I could have gotten some for about the last two months, cause I have been staying about the same. But since my workouts were upped again, I figured to just keep my money and wear the leggings (I have been buying these in smaller sizes...they’re cheap at walmart!) I’ve been wearing for the past year! So, good for you! Enjoy your pants and yay...they’re much cheaper atwalmart and yes, they’re just as good too, IMO. 😊

No, haven’t tried and probably won’t ever try it. Did you end up making them? How did it go?

I've been looking for where to enter a status update for days! Finally found it!!! So yay me! Now to think of something funny or profound to say.

hey everyone. I didn’t keel over and die...just been awol from here. Been busy getting another aspect of my life in order...finances! Lol. It’s been a ride but it’s good.
So, I’m almost a year out. I don’t have any numbers to give ya except I’m close to the goal the doc’s office set for me. I’m still going strong with my plant eating. Yum. So strong that my body rejects chicken. Lol. Okay, my taste buds rejected a bite of chicken I had at a bbq.
I guess I should get some numbers for the newbies soon, it always helps to see what you can be at a year out or more right? I’ll do it closer to my date which is the15th of May.
Blessings to you all.

Thanks @FluffyChix . I’ll do my best to get back on more often, and definitely give an update with numbers and pics. I’ll have to get my husband to take some. I’m quite tired of my closet mirror and my phone in my hand. I want a decent pic and by golly, I’ll get one!

I am in Love with myself right now.
There is soo many times I felt like giving up and just saying F*** it. I will never lose any more weight or get rid of all of this fat. I am soo glad that I did not. I took this picture after a work out on Friday and I have to say "Dammmmnnn Gina" lol. I am coming together so nicely. I may not need to spend that much money on stomach after all lol. I am soo excited to keep this going. I cannot wait to see what I look like in 6 more months. This year has been amazing. My Ab is starting to come in too.

Almost 10 months post sleeve, and I have noticed that it's time for me to add in one more lifestyle change on top of my plant based diet. I have added IF, intermittent fasting, 16:8. I was going to wait until one year, but it seems as if I've got to a standstill and I've got about 30-40 lbs to lose still. For those who don't know, IF is not a diet...it's just changing WHEN you eat. I fast for 16 hours (mostly sleeping) and then I eat all my food within 8 hours (or I try to). I work out during my fast as well for extra benefits. I implemented it three days ago and I'm down 2 lbs now. I used to do IF during my obese days and I was successful for three months, changing my body's physique and burning fat, BUT I wasn't successful in my head. I'm sure I probably got injured (as it was always happening then) and I succumbed to emotional eating as I always did. Now, my head is in a better place, and I'm in control MOST of the time. Still not perfect, and probably never will be, but I'll strive to be so. So, here's to a Newme...in 2018 too!

@nursejackie, I know about the night eating...it's a habit I have too (I still struggle with wanting to eat right before bed). With the IF, I fast from 7pm to11am. Lots of water gets me through during the hours I'm awake during the fast, but, as time goes on, it gets easier to do and I meet my water goal. The first three days are hardest, at least for me. Since I wake up most mornings at 6am...I tie my fast over with a cup of coffee and about 35 calories of creamer in it which isn't enough to actually break my fast. Currently, I'm doing a moderate workout (bike, elliptical) for about 45 mins in the mornings before I break the fast. (I brought a banana with me the first few days, just in case my body couldn't handle it, but I was fine without it). The hardest part is trying to eat all my food in the 8 hour window. I felt too full the first day. Scaled back on some and felt better the next. Then I decided I'm not going to worry about it and just make sure I eat when I'm hungry. I do always try to eat something right before I start the fast again though. So far, it's been going well.
I'll try my best to update every so often.

Since this journey, even people at work are treating me differently. People used to never ask me to do physical activities and in the last 2 days, I have been asked to the following:
1) Join the companies 5K marathon team for next year
2) Join the companies Friday Night Bike Ride through Prospect Park
3) Even joining a kickboxing class with another employee
It just blows my mind that people invite me to things like this. I am soo excited to try new things that I would have been afraid to do.

That's exactly it...so many people are unhealthy on the inside and they too need to work on that. My husband is one that doesn't gain weight, eats whatever he wants, and has always been small. But since he's adopted the plant based lifestyle with me, well...he's still small, BUT he says he feels better and he knows he's healthier inside now too.
Go you! Be the inspiration to all!!!

The dreaded stall continues -- for a third week of horribleness. Making it worse, I have my 6-week post-op appointment on Monday. Grrr. This sux.

Most people have the general idea to not invite someone who is obese and out of shape to do those kinds of activities. IMO, if they do, they’re not thinking of the risk factors for an obese person; therefore not having the best interest in mind for him/her. But since you’ve lost so much and have gotten stronger, it is very nice of them to include you in!!! And the best part...you CAN do them with minimal to no risk now. How awesome is that!!?

This wonderful, amazing woman has guided me, encouraged me, prevented me from giving up and from looking stupid at the gym (ex. decline sit-ups)🤣. The saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Well it takes a village to achieve the hardest goals ever. I am so blessed to have so many people like her in my life.
