az062217vsg got a reaction from MiltonP in HELP! Need to reset/refocus. 3+ years post-op.
Thank you all for the comments! I'm definitely eating too many carbs, so I'm going to first try replacing 1 meal with a Protein Shake and start counting calories. I also dug my bike out of storage. I like in Arizona, so I can't do much outdoors in the summer, but it's finally getting nice out!

Try doing more exercise and cutting carbs count your calorie intake and take your Protein
I had my surgery March 2018 with the pandemic I lost track and gained 20 lbs was drinking too much eating things I’m not suppose to and pushing my eating limits, 2 month ago I decided it was enough bought I bike started doing exercise cut the carbs started counting calories I’m between 800 and 1200 per day, substituted dinner for Protein Shake and happy to say that after 2 months I’ve lost 25 pounds I’m doing around 120 to 150 miles a week on the bike I feel awesome and back on track I refuse to be part of the percentage that gains the weight
now I’m back to only eating 5 oz of food and feeling full before this reset I was eating 8-10 oz
talk to your Doctor see what works for you

So before I get started, here are my stats...
    Surgery Date: June 12, 2017
Surgery Type / Cost: VSG - Self Pay (~$19,000)
    High Weight: 216
    Low Weight: 125
    Current Weight: 150
    Goal Weight: 116
Between relationship stress, COVID stress, and just life I am now up to 150. I need help to get back into the "sleeve" mind set. I REALLY want to avoid revision surgery. Any suggestions? My pouch has definitely stretched. I can eat a lot more than initially after surgery (not like right after obviously, but the first year or 2 after). Help!!

Lorin, that sounds scary to say the least. I haven't experienced it but just wanted to ask if your doctor has checked your bloods lately especially hemoglobin levels? Low levels could potentially cause that. Hope they get to the bottom of it soon to prevent serious adverse effects.

I also think they'll find the cause in bloodwork.
Also, think about any prescriptions you are on.. they may need adjusting too.

Thanks all for the feedback. I am hoping to have surgery sooner than later (due to job issues, and a possible career change this summer), paying myself since insurance likely won't cover even if I do the 6 months of dieting anyways.

I had 2 Protein Shakes (breakfast and lunch) and one somewhat normal/high Protein meal for dinner. Basically just needed to stay under 1000 calories, which was pretty doable given that two meals were protein shakes.
I would suggest stepping outside of the vanilla and chocolate shake flavors. I found strawberry, banana, and Cookies and cream to be pretty good too!

My FMLA paperwork was pretty general, and didn't need to specify weight loss surgery. My surgeon's office just said "General Surgery" under specialty (which he is), and gave the frequency of follow-up appointments and any recovery time needed immediately following surgery. HR could easily figure out that I had weight loss surgery if they google my surgeon's name, but so far my HR rep has been really understanding and helpful!

I am day 3 post-op and am trying really hard to get all the Water in too! I found that standing while drinking helps some (relieves some pressure), also I tend to alternate between warm, room temp, and cold water.

Sorry you are dealing with this. I had issues with my PCP office, too. She didn't know anything about weight loss surgery and it was a challenge (and stress) to deal with. She eventually wrote me a letter (somewhat inaccurate), and I was denied. I ended up paying out of pocket, and will be getting a new PCP very soon!

I've been making this lately and it's so good and satisfying! (Im 8 months post op so no food restrictions as long as they are healthy)
BLT, but I use iceberg lettuce instead of bread. For me personally, I watch my carbs and don't worry as much about fats.
I use crisp bacon, Tomato, mayo, and iceberg.

I just tried TruSource Protein Water (got at Walgreens) in the flavor fruit passion, and it is much better than Isopure, in my opinion. No weird after taste. 20g protein, 80 cal.

az062217vsg reacted to starfishwish in Liquid diet....
I am less than one week away from starting my liquid diet. Less than two weeks away from surgery. I have honestly been looking forward to this liquid diet because I know it will jumpstart me and help me lose a little bit of weight before surgery. I feel very prepared both mentally and with a stocked pantry. However, I hear the struggles here of others during their liquid diet, (so maybe I'm wrong and I'm going to struggle?)
so I'd like to ask for tips and tricks, tell me how you got through it. Was it easy for you? Hard? What was the most difficult part for you. I know everyone's experience is different. Tell me everything
