I so agree it is unfair. I moved to florida which is a state that is super conservative. I went to my regular dr but she did not understand the needs of the bariatric patient ( kept trying to give me medication we can not take and did not know what I needed to have checked on the blood test.) that is why I went to the bariatric clinic. I just want folks to get great after care and to be sure they research what they will need so if their dr suggests something that is not right--they will be informed and not have a medical issue that can be avoided.

I don't think those are all 'post op' issues. The 'gaining attention' sure. But try to enjoy it. Imagine it from a guys perspective. Once the weight is off, what women do I approach? I don't have the years of practice, lol.
Receiving complements - I think lots of women (and some men) struggle with that, combine some self-esteem issuing with not wanting to be conceited and boom. Just try to take them in the spirit they are given. If a guy says, "you're the best thing I've seen all day." Hey, if he's cute, ask him where he's been. Lol.
Dating etiquette - that's a loaded one. You have to find a balance. I tend to enjoy learning about people, warts and all, so I'm hard to shock, bit you can overshare with some people. Again, something we all go through.
Working thru issues - another loaded one. Personally, I've tried (with some success) to take people art face value. Just try to keep your eyes and ears open. Sometimes the signs are there, but we don't want to be alone. Dating is like a job interview. People try to put their best foot forward. Eventually (I have a six month theory) the real them comes out.

Just chalk it up to one meal and move on with your good habits for the rest of the day. Everyone has a moment every now and then one meal off your recent norm doesn't mean you failed!!

Hello beautiful people! Like many sleevers I developed heartburn after surgery. I was taking OTC generics (same as Prilosec) which did a great job of controlling it, but because of my family history of neurological issues I asked my nut about other options; she suggested trying enteric peppermint oil. I've been taking it for a few days with promising results. It certainly doesn't last 24 hours but if I take it about 30 mins before I eat, it controls it. The one I take also has fennel in it and is marketed for people with IBS, which I don't have. Just wanted to throw that out for anyone seeking to conquer post op GERD.

Well, I had my first (and hopefully last) episode of vomiting. I went for a walk and after coming home, I was incredibly thirsty. Without thinking, I gulped many gulps of delicious, cool Water.
TERRIBLE DECISION. Instant regret. Holy guacamole. After about a minute or so of awful pain, I felt nauseous. That water came right back up and out.
Let my mistake be your lesson: do not drink large quantities quickly. Be mindful every time you put something into your mouth.

So, I have major depression issues and it seems like I don't get "Happy" very often (maybe 3 or 4 times a month, if I'm lucky) so when I do feel happy I just want to scream it to the world and this is one of those days!
Today was the first day in over a year that I was able to take a shower without being in tears from the pain the Water and loofa/washcloth causes. It actually took a minute after I got the courage to put my whole back under the water to realize that I could stop cringing because it wasn't actually hurting that bad! I wanted to scream and shout from the rooftops that I got to take a nice, long, run out of hot water long shower without crying. I did do a happy dance though, that's for sure!
So, that is my happy share for the day. Hope everyone here has at least one happy moment worth celebrating today. I know I did! (And even if it doesn't happen again for a while, I am thoroughly grateful for it).
And if anyone does have a happy moment worth celebrating today (aren't all happy moments worth celebrating? ), I'd love to hear about it!

I have been having a nagging kind of pain on the left side of my chest when I took deep breaths ever since my surgery on 1/17. Today...no more pain. May have been gas pain, or maybe muscular, but either way, glad it is finally gone!
