    Breakfast help

I've been eating leftovers for breakfast the last few days. I did find a protein bar that I like too. So I try to alternate now so I don't get tired of it. I've never been a big breakfast food person anyway so it's not too far a jump for me to eat non breakfast foods anyway. I was the girl who'd eat a sandwich for breakfast while everyone else was eating eggs and bacon. Lol

    Breakfast help

I appreciate all the help! I've tried going back to the protein shakes in the mornings, but I find I either can't get it all down or I'm hungry within an hour. I know that's probably all in my head. I just need to do a better job of alternating I think. I tend to want to do the same thing every day because it's easy, but that hasn't been working. I really appreciate all of the encouragement as well!

    Breakfast help

I'll have to try the white bean combo! I eat beef jerky for a snack later in the day usually, but I haven't tried cottage cheese in a while. I'll try that again too. Thanks for the help!
  4. I'm having a really hard time coming up with something I can eat for breakfast. I'm 7 months out and have been struggling for a couple of months now. I ate the triple zero yogurt with fruit for so long that I can't stand the smell of the yogurt by itself anymore. I couldn't eat eggs at breakfast before surgery so I'm terrified to try them now. Unfortunately there isn't much out there that has enough protein that isn't yogurt or eggs! Occasionally I make a chicken salad and I can eat that, but it gets old after a day or two. I have given up on ever liking tuna again, once in a while I can stomach it but not often. I had been visiting the subway in the lobby of the place I work and just getting the meat that would come on a 6inch sub but even that turns my stomach some days. I'm just at a loss. Today I tried an overnight oats recipe that was higher in protein, but I'm not sure if that was a good idea. I wasn't able to eat lunch because I got extremely nauseous and had some stomach pains a couple of hours after eating it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate any help!

    SF popsicles

I did that too, with anything and everything that I tried to eat or drink in that 1st/2nd week. It did eventually stop being so loud after I was able to start the puréed foods. My stomach still makes a lot of noise, but nothing like those early days! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I wanted to be one of those people who didn't need much pain medicine after surgery but that wasn't the case for me. I had a drain and a lot of the pain was from that. They took the drain out after 7 days and it was a couple of days after that before I was able to stop the pain meds completely. I was so discouraged by everyone posting that they didn't need the pain meds, but I had to realize that we are not all the same and our surgery experiences won't be the same. It's ok to take the pain meds if you need them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Foods

Same here with the canned tuna not tasting good anymore. I was so excited because it was allowed on the puréed part of my postop diet, but it did not taste good at all anymore no matter what I did to it. Thankfully chicken salad does taste ok, I just had to cook the chicken myself and not use the canned. The little liquid things of crystal light don't taste good anymore either. I'm still slowly adding in foods so I'm sure I'll find some more things that don't taste the same as I go along. I'm hoping that it's temporary, but I'll be ok if it isn't. I've read on here and other places that you have to wait and try them again later before you really know for sure. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Blood Clots

I used Dr Marker in Dothan. My choices were Birmingham or Dothan and Dothan was closer. LOL I live closer to Gulf Shores. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Blood Clots

I'm also from AL! I just had my sleeve done 12/16. The surgeon I used gave me 10 days of lovenox, one prior to surgery and then for 9 days after. At my one week follow up he told me I didn't have to keep using the lovenox if I was up and moving around frequently. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I think it was the 8th or 9th postop day before I felt like I could stop mine. My drain was removed on day 7 and I was able to cut back from every 4 to 5 hours to just once or twice a day after that. I've been completely off pain meds now for 3 days and I still have a little pain here or there but it's nothing I can't handle. I think the drain was causing most of my pain. 11. Thanks everyone for the replies. My surgery is tomorrow and I've now lost 5 or 6 pounds while on the liquid diet. I was expecting closer to 10 but we will see what the final number is in the morning I suppose. I'm not freaking out about not losing weight anymore, lol! I'm nervous now about surgery in general, but I'm sure it will all go well! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Thanks so much! I have lost another pound, so I've calmed myself down some. Those shakes seem to have more Fiber in them than I was getting before, so that may have been part of the issue as well. That aspect of things seems to be better, or at least more like what I was expecting so I'm thinking it will be better these last few days. Thanks again! 13. I'm a little more than halfway through my preop liquid diet (sleeve scheduled for December 16th!) and I'm concerned that I'm not losing any weight. My surgeon recommended Bariatric Advantage shakes, along with Clear liquids. I do 3 of the shakes a day (his recommendation) along with Water, broth, sugar free Jello, and sugar free power aid. I've only lost 1 pound since starting the preop diet. Is this normal? I'm terrified that my liver will not have shrunk enough and he won't be able to do my surgery. Am I worrying too much?
