julie74601 got a reaction from RGJohnston71 in Pureed foods
So tomorrow I can eat pureed foods. I am so ready for it. I do have a couple of questions though. How much food should I fix? I have really had no major issues with full liquids. I'm worried I won't know when I'm too full. Also, any suggestions for easy things to grab at the store would be appreciated.

Try Bariatric Choice liquid Protein fruit drink concentrate! I couldnt stomach the daily chalky Protein shakes, most of them made me nauseated. The Liquid Protein comes in berry, blue raspberry, pomegranate and some other flavor..its a liquid packet u mix with Water. The berry smells like a jolly rancher and tastes pretty good especially if u put a little fruit punch mio drops in it! I am definitely going to order more from Amazon. I think its 15 grams of protein per packet too

julie74601 got a reaction from ladygg1967 in Just curious
So, I had my sleeve on the 16th. I am still on liquids. Things are going well. I'm not having any issues getting Protein or fluids in. Which has me kind of curious. When I get to the next stage how will I know I'm full because right now I'm beginning to feel a little hunger.

On my way to the hospital. I pray I'm making the best choice. I researched for a long time. I'm kind of nervous but I guess that should be expected.

julie74601 got a reaction from lisaBme in Sugar free stuff
Ok, I do one problem with the recommended diet post op and just thought I would ask. My doctor's office recommends switching to sugar free stuff, margarine, etc. My problem is this. Having children with autism I have had to dive deep into the things that make up our foods. A lot, and I mean a lot, of the things recommended are filled with chemicals, cancer producing things, and are worse for you than the real thing. I have changed some of these things in their diet and have noticed improvements in behavior. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

julie74601 got a reaction from Raymia in Tomorrow is the day. Soooo nervous.
Well, tomorrow is the big day. I'm really nervous. I am glad I have a lot to do today with therapy for my kids and a karate Christmas party tonight I have to help with to keep me occupied so I'm not thinking about it all day. Any tips, prayers, and support are appreciated. Oh is there anything that would be good to pick up from the store before hand that would be helpful?

Oh, and my inflammatory factors are down post-op. My rheumy was talking about biologics before I decided on surgery, and now biologics are off the table indefinitely.

julie74601 got a reaction from My4Brownies in Post-op goals
Ok, lets hear them. What are some Post-op goals that you have after you get up and about. One of my goals is my kids and I do karate. I'm a purple belt currently but stopped when I started getting out of breath. Now I just watch as I help run the office. I promised my kids I would get back in it and we would do all the tournaments to go to state next year. My 15yo wants to buy a bow flex so we can work muscles to become stronger. I told them I could not start sparring again until doctor approval but I could do the rest I think. I will be talking to my doctor first though.
