[/img] At six months I was at about 1000 cals, give or take. I started to slow down too, but I was not exercise as much. Keep up the good work. Kitty

    Vitamins pre surgery?

Yes, normally you want to stop taking the vitamins 7 days before surgery to minimize bleeding. I think I started mine back up 6 weeks after surgery. Kitty

    Calories?

I am anywhere between 900 to 1200 calories daily. I try to stay below 75 carbs daily. Depends on the day, how busy I am, and the time of the month.

    Almost 1 year out?!

Was sleeved Dec 27th. I am a little bummed I will not make it to my goal at my one year, but I am almost there! So extremely happy had the surgery! HW 330 SW 296 CW 187 GW 155
  5. I was sleeved December 27, 2016. Since May, I have been experiencing many firsts. I did a quick search and noticed that there was not a thread about this. I have been overweight since I was 9. With this being said, I have not been able to do things other people/kids have. In fear that I would break things or I did not want the embarrassment of falling or not fitting. I stopped riding Rollercoasters when I was 14. Now that I am 130 pounds lighter I am working my my first list. In May, I ran my first 5k in 39 min. In July, I road the farris wheel for the first time since I was 13. Now as I'm writing this, I am in a hammock for the first time in my life. This may seem small, but for me these are HUGE! What are some of your firsts? Kitty

    Hair loss

So glad I saw this. I am 5 months out and did not think my hair loss was too bad until my mom asked me why my hair was so thin... I have alway lost some hair due to thyroid, but it is getting worse. Didnt start until a month or two ago. All labs came back normal. I'll just keep trying to increase my protein as much as I can. Alcohol

My surgery was December 27, my preop diet started December 12. We had our Christmas dinner December 11, and that was last splurge before surgery. I drank a bottle of wine throughout the day, knowing that it would never happen again. I too, watched the amount I drank for the two months before, but this was my celebration. Enjoy your last little bit, because you want to be able to dedicate yourself to this lifestyle. It is amazing process. I wouldn't change a thing! Kitty

    Calories post op

For the first two weeks I bairly got 500 cals in then for the next two months it was almost 600-800. At three months, I was able to get up to 1000, but did not really eat that much daily until about 5 months. Kitty

    Relationship changes

Try to nicely stress the importance of his support. I have had to "remind " my husband about this. The hardest thing for me is him drinking beer. Or wanting to go out for a beer. It is really tough at first. As long as uou can keep your will power strong you can do it. If I am really hankering for a beer, I'll take sip maybe two of my husband and that is it. Baby steps. Kitty

    Water intake!

I started sipping but found I could take a larger amount. Being at work is very hard to keep drinking. At 6 months still at about 32 oz daily. If I run, then I can drink more. It all depends on the day ,and If my stomach will want plain water or not. Some times I will take a couple of drinks and my stomach gets all knotty. I then try to get some propel water or a bai drink. Kitty

    Relationship changes

My husband had a previous girlfriend who was sleeve and a year later cheated on him, got pregnant, and never paid him back since she was cash paying. So when I was thinking about having the surgery, I told him I would not do anything without his blessing. He went with me to the orientation, which was not required with his ex since it was cash. This sealed the deal with. Him. Hearing that only 3% of morbidly obese people can loose the weight on their own and keep it off for the rest of their lives, with the fact that my grandmother was diagnosed with estrogen based breast cancer(fat fed), My father died at the age of 37 from liver cancer, and lastly let's not forget, 75% of family on both my mother and father's side are at some for obesity. Genetics was not on my side. I am now 6 months out from being sleeved, and the best complement he has given me was that everything he experienced with his ex was totally different with me. In a positive way. I am at 93 lbs weight loss, and he normally ends up finishing what little I have left when we cook at home. If we eat out, we see if we can either split a meal or I get my own and have left overs for lunch and dinner the next day. If he wants his KFC, then u just make something small for me, that I know he really doesn't care for. So far so good, but communication is key!! Kitty
  14. I apologize as well, miss read and assumed it meant laparoscopic. that is a really cool way to do the procedure. if you do not find anyone, please look into GHP. They are AMAZING!!
  15. Just to be a smart ass, my tip would be , do not gulp! Take small sips and bites. Be prepared. Have high protein foods in your house at all times. I bought Tupperware that had measurements. Then when I got to solids, I bought a scale. This helps until you are able to judge the correct portions. Walking is great, but each week push yourself a little more. By my two week post op I was walking 2 Miles a day. At 6 weeks, I was starting to run and did 3 miles. By 5 months I did my first 5k in 39 minutes. Take it one day at a time! You will do great! Kitty
  16. Grand health partners in Grand Rapids! Dr Baker was wonderful! Their process as a whole is fantastic. I have passed out my pre and post surgery papers out to lots of people who have DR'S that did not give them hardly any information. This office truly wants their patients to succeed! I am 5 months out and down 90 lbs Kitty
  17. excited for my 2 month! down 3 dress sizes and almost 4 pounds

  19. Ever since I started the pre-op diet 12-13, I have been having issues trying to get to sleep. I was sleeved on 12-27 and about 50% of the time my body jerks myself awake just as I'm starting to doze. I have never had this problem before. . Anyone else. Finally stared to hit the gym!

I started after my two week post op. I just took it slow and added the weight and reps depending on how my abdomen felt. Last week at 4 weeks out, I started interval training so I run for minute at a time. Just listen to your body. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
