Martha Parker-mcneal got a reaction from Jdewv75 in 4 days post op, is this normal?
absolutely normal. the gas pains come after the surgery because they pump you full of air. sip on your Water and walk as much as possible. a heating pad helped me. I got relief once I had a bowel movement. the weakness will last several months. sorry but you need truth. good luck

maybe a few sips of warm tea ( decaf) or broth. the warm helps me but we are all different. start with just two or three sips and see. mostly you just have to wait it out. hopefully it will be over soon and you can get back to the foods you really should be eating.

for those of you who keep posting that you are forgetting to take your vit or drink your water==put a plan in place. this is a life style change and will take time to become a habit. I take my vit when I brush my teeth each morning and night but you can connect it to your meals etc . set the alarm on your phone for every 30 min and drink some Water. or set an alarm clock. if you wont get angry=have someone who is responsible remind you for a week or two until it gets to be second nature. there are many ways to get around any obstacle you might encounter but you have to think outside the box ( our normal way of thinking is what got us here to begin with) ugh. don't be too hard on yourself but also as nike says just do it. if not you could end up in the hospital from dehydration of even worse. best of luck to everyone on their journey

I can not get the page to load properly so not sure about what you are asking. if you mean a body odor no there is none at least if you stay clean. I could shower in the hospital and so continued that once home. I did a bath chair in the shower and had someone to call if I got too weak or felt dizzy but that never happened. never heard of anyone having an odor unless their stitches got infected. then maybe but will be treated promptly so is not a permanent thing. hope this helps and if you need something more specific just let me know good luck

try lots of things to get the Water down. I will mix Water and crystal light half and half. try infused water with fruits and veggies. Protein water is great but I also do it half and half as sometime the Protein taste is too much. like with any new habit it will be hard at first but just keep forcing it. sip sip sip. it will only take one time of have to be hospitalized with de hydration to let you know how important this one is. good luck to you

so sorry you are going thro this but very happy you are aware of the issue and getting back on track. it is a great warning to all of us. once we start getting some distance between the surgery and now all too often we start slacking up. since we don't dump so much and start getting hungry we push the limits on food and this can lead to regain. if we are feeling good we will stop all the Vitamins and slack up on Water and exercise. thanks so much for reminding all of us that we need to stay true to the basics of the program. hope tomorrow brings you back to some peace and your plan of drinking again and getting the Protein will bring that body back to vibrant health.

it is possible but not very usual. I have seen it mentioned several times but most of the time you will lose quickly at first and then it will slow down at about the 6-8 month stage. if you are losing too much there might be a physical reason or they may just start upping your carbs until you reach a set point that is healthy for you. don't worry til you get there.

it will get better in time but if it does not go to a therapist who is familiar with bariatric surgery or a group like oa. I still go to oa and it really helps. the main thing when I get food on the brain is that I do something to distract me ie go for a walk -call a friend- play with kids or pets-do a craft- journal about what is eating you-put on music and dance etc. you really will just have to push thro it.

it is your body and sounds like you have done a ton of research so do what is best for you. that being said. I had an rny 13 years ago and almost never vomit. I do dump sometimes ( it is my own fault by eating too fast or eating too much or eating a few things I know I can not eat) however when I dump I don't vomit ( sometimes wish I could so it would pass faster lol) usually just nauseous and pain along with sweating. there are very few things I can not eat ( I wish there were more ) I have the hardest time with sweets and can only eat about 3 bites each time but that is ok as I get the taste with out the calories. some meats are hard for me such as beef ( stringy) or pork but still can eat them if they are moist and I chew them well. just don't very often as I now love chicken and fish. each of us is different and there is no way to tell what your pouch will tolerate and what it wont until you are at least 6 months out. by then you will be so happy with the weight loss you wont care that you cant eat everything. best of luck to you

mine started falling out about one month to 6 weeks after surgery. it lasted about 4 months and then started growing back. such a funny feeling when all of a sudden you start feeling prickles when you run your fingers thro the hair. it is new growth. loved it

Martha Parker-mcneal got a reaction from snapy17 in Day 7 post op Very Hungry
we are starting a whole new lifestyle and like any change they are hard. just keep doing what you are told and it will get better. however if it continues get counselling for the head hunger or go to oa. that is what I had to do so I would not continue to eat the wrong things and trigger cravings. best of luck to you

you may have pulled a muscle. you did not mention if you have started exercising. sometimes with the lack of activity our muscles are weak and when we start exercising they are easily damaged temp. also be sure you are getting your Protein ( for your muscles) and taking all your Vitamins. good luck to you

bananas and potatoes have lots of potassium I know that they are also high carbs but talk to the nut and see how much you can get in and still keep the carb level down. research other high potassium foods. good luck to you

I have tried it and had trouble sometimes. I rarely eat it anymore but if I do I chew it up but spit out the husks as they seem to be what causes the problems.
it is usually not recommended so try to find some option. I often take a high Protein snack to the movies and not have the pop corn. good luck to you

have someone moniter your snoring or stopping breathing during sleep. have the sleep study. often as we lose weight the fat in our necks also reduces and most of the time folks can stop the machines. Im not a dr but I have heard that we should not stop them on our own as the poor breathing and poor sleep can lead to heart problems down the line. good luck to you

Martha Parker-mcneal got a reaction from hbluemel73 in Migraines
we were told no ibuprofen ever. since I am older I was worried about joint pain in later life. so far the exercising has kept the pain at bay. talk to your dr or nurse pract. there are meds for Migraines that are acceptable. good luck to you

congrats on the loss. I loved being able to get rid of those big sized clothes. kept on outfit so that when I feel down I get it out and realize just how far I have come.
