  1. Gasx and Codine are my new best friends. I also put a wrapped ice pack on my main incision...much better. We all will heal differently...and I'm sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you so much love. I will have to try the ice pack technique. How are you feeling? I'll be praying for you! ❤️

  2. @@Large2Ncharge i know that I'm part of many of them! lol but that has nothing to do at all with what I'm saying all I'm saying is a lot of people also on that calendar that you linked aren't part of this partially group that we are talking on and I'm getting messages from people asking about the calendar and that calendar link that your posting has nothing to do with just this group because anyone has access to it "which is great, i loved the purpose of it! thats why i also added my name to it when you posted the link on the general fourm the first time "but this group had been around before that calendar was made and some people now are thinking that by adding their name to that calendar i can see it and thats how I'm suppose to get their date but since not everyone on that calendar is part of the group i can't go off that calendar cause the calendar i made was made to be a place for support from people specifically part of this partially group, not any other group out there, I would love to be able to show everyone who has a surgery in December support but that would be way to crazy there are hundreds of people! so thats why i did the surgery date support calendar for the group, just specifically for this group, even though i know there are tons of groups out there! when i made it, i keep track of when people send me their dates and join the group, I'm just trying to get people to understand i can't go off your calendar cause half of those people don't belong to the group lol

Just let them know it is a public calendar for anyone on MBP, and that it is separate. You are doing a good job. GOod luck on your upcoming date @OhHeyMarina

  3. @@Large2Ncharge you've made that calendar for anyone in December right? This particular one is just for the people who have actually joined the 2016 sleevers group :)

Any Sleever for December 2016. I'm not sure everyone understands the diff between the forums and the groups. If they list their MBP username, I shoot the group's link to them and let them know that they can access the group via a laptop/desktop computer.

I understand, I was just asking cause you posted that in a fourm that was posted to the group lol so i just wanted people to understand the calendar I did and that i post on people surgery day to show them support was strictly for group members so that it can be a private group support type thing because there way to many people in December haha I'm getting so many private messages asking why they aren't part of it, so thats why i asked lol
There is a ton of sub groups out there and lots of active folks. A couple of Facebook groups have also sprouted up.

  5. I'm in Texas as well. went to my presurgery last week and still haven't gotten a hospital total yet.No word from my anesthetic dr either. My surgery is next week.

My actual surgeon is collecting her full cost tomorrow. I have Aetna and I'm required to pay my surgeon $5000 plus a co-pay of about $1000 more.

  6. There is a December sleevers group under "groups " and you can access that if you are on a laptop or desktop computer.

Also, you can find a sleeve buddy that shares your December surgery date:

    It's free!

Anyone here can post on it and view it so you can find an "accountabilaBuddy" or surgery twin.

You don't need to create an account to post.

Just use the URL to go to the calendar: https://teamup.com/ks5074f51794efefeb

*****Make sure you are looking at December 2016 and not November

    Click on your date

Under Title: Put your MyBariatricPal user name

Under Who: Put your actual name or name you pref your friends to call you

    Under Where: Put your location

  7. I really hadn't told anyone except my supervisor at work (and I only told her that I was having some surgery for a health related issue). If I need supportive people, I can find them here, in this community of folks who knows exactly what I am going through.

They've said it best...your life, your business....tell or not tell anyone you want.

We will be here to support your decision.

  9. There is a December 2016 Sleevers group in the forum already up and running:

    http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1221-december-2016-sleevers/

Would be great to see all the new faces there. :)

Also have a team calendar where you can post your date and find an "Accountabila-buddy"

    It's free!

  10. If you are the cook, then you can influence what is eaten in the house. Earlier someone said that they learned to eat what was provided to them (as a child). What better way to introduce your family to a gradual change than by bringing in new dishes that are healthier than what they have previously had.

Do you go to a support group? My support group welcomes family members so they can have intimate insight to what the surgery means and what support is required.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers that things get better for you.... you deserve it.

  11. The way it was explained to me is that Water doesn't sit for too too long in you new stomach, but it does sit like anything else. You would get full off the liquid and not desire to eat your nutrients. I was also told that Water would help move food from the stomach into your intestines without a lengthy digestion stage in the stomach. I'm not a dr, so I just took the bariatric nurse's word on his, since I had the same question as you did.
