  1. I had my Gastric Sleeve in November 2016. Starting weight 485 lbs. Current weight 220 lbs. To say it changed my life would be an understatement. If you are on the fence about having this surgery, take my word for it. It works!

5 years post op and have huge REGRET!

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience, but from what I've read your experience is very rare.
  3. After my last post, people asked for photos, so here's a photo of me from around my top weight of 485 or so wearing 60" waist pants. The newer photo I took today where I am wearing a 32" waist.
  4. This is gonna sound like bragging, and I guess it is....but for the first time in my life my waist size and inseam size in pants is the same number: 32 At my biggest I was a 60" waist, so this is REALLY a huge milestone for me. My surgery was November 2016. Started at 485. Current weight 200.
  5. "Unfortunately, Congratulations" ? Please explain.....
  6. I just keep eating right and try to get about 30 minutes of exercise in 5 days a week. There wasn't a moment where I stopped losing and started maintaining. It's all about a new way to eat and live my life.

  9. WOW! I can't believe it's been 3 years since my Gastric Sleeve surgery! It feels like I had it yesterday. I started out at 470 and I've pretty much maintained at 215 pounds for the bulk of this year. If anyone is on the fence about having this surgery, let me tell you, it's life changing. I am so happy I did it. Not only is my health great, I've gotten very fit and am more active now than I have been in years.

    An honest update. Weight Gain

You are the first person I've ever read who said they were starving the day after WLS surgery. Anyway, sorry you are struggling and I hope you get your issues together. At least your mistakes might be a red flag to someone else like you, who was not emotionally ready for WLS surgery.

    250 pounds lost!

I can’t believe you have had so much success with so little effort. I think setting little goals like that is a good thing, when you try to push yourself too hard is when you get discouraged and fail. I can’t believe you have had so much success with "so little effort"? One does not have to become a gym rat or to workout 1 or 2 hours a day to continue to lose weight. If you eat low carb and high protein and do a bit of exercise each day you can get results.

Here's what losing 250 pounds looks like on me.

    250 pounds lost!

Congrats! My workout is very simple. I lift weights for 15 minutes, do 100 crunches and then 20 minutes of cardio 5 days a week. That's it.
  14. I had my sleeve surgery in November 2016. Pre surgery weight was 470. After 2 week pre-op diet I was 440. This week I weighed in at 220 pounds. That's 250 pounds LOST and it's been easy. I am insanely glad that I made the decision to get this surgery. I've heard stories of people who gain weight back after this surgery, and it baffles my mind because even 2+ years later I still get full so quickly. I can't imagine how anyone can eat too much with such a reduced stomach size. I know instantly that I cannot eat anymore once my stomach is full. I know instantly that if I took another bite I would feel physically ill. Anyway, I am beyond happy with my health and the way I look. From a 58 waist to a 36 slim fit in jeans. Yay me!
