Great article and very well written to explain all the types...it really makes you think what type you are and it made me think that sometimes i used to (sometimes still think about) fell/fall into several of those categories. Reality check is always good medicine

Good Morning,
I take the bariatric multi Vitamin that is on supply at the hospital that I had surgery so it makes it easy for me and its a one a day pill. That is SUPER easy for me because I take it at 5 am before work and no worries through out the day.

It is a decision that takes you back and forth... I took this journey in November/2015 after researching all options. It can be a stressful roller coaster in itself. I am 6 months out (gastric sleeve) on the 9th and I can say it is working for me. I was on 4 medications and now only on my Multivitamins and calcium chews ... It may not be easy to decide but you are in the right direction in doing your research and having your doctor to give you resources is also a great move. I am sure with you being health conscious about you..you will make the right decision! Good Luck and keep us updated.

I worried alot about Hair loss when I first took this journey but I can say hitting 6 months on May 9th, I have not had any hair loss other than my usual shedding on occasion between styling. I do take my Vitamins and calcium chews faithfully so maybe that helps and the additional Protein may help since I did not follow a healthy diet in the past so maybe this body change is a help to me than a hinder...

I usually use those as my treat as well...sweets was my problem at night and I can say the sugar free Popsicle worked for me.

That is a very inspiring story... So glad to see the truth 3 yrs out. I am going on 6 months out on May 9th and I still have my good and bad days but have already made peace with myself that it is my work so my accomplishments and failures is all on me. I can say I would not have thought it would get easier everyday and it has. Thank you for your story and encouragement.

My wardrobe over the past many years has been varying shades of black or gray (see last pic). I have been shopping thrift stores mainly until I get to a place where my weight stabilizes, but decided I could use a couple of new items, so I decided to splurge. I bought WHITE pants!!! LOL. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but let me tell you, it really is. I've always carried so much of my weight in my butt and thighs and always chose dark colors for skirts and pants. It felt so good to buy a nice pair of white pants for spring, lol. In a size 10 no less. Squeeee!!!! 5 months out and gone from a size 18/20 in pants to a size 10!!! I am doing a celebration dance over here! No regrets!
Hey now !!!!

When you feel good about taking pictures with others n selfies.
When your daughter says you do more around the house instead of just sit in my room.
When a very critical co worker n family member says,You look great in that color..when I've wore these scrubs before..lmao
When you can pass up the temptation food in the grocery store n fast food easier than b4.
Sad note: you know you lost weight when you start losing "friends" because they loved the heaviest girl in the bunch and not the out going one emerging..

My surgeon put me on one for first 30 days only. To keep acid production down as the stomach heals, after that he said only if needed.

Blessed my insurance covers it except my deductible which was under a grand...My other option if the didn't cover much was my credit union..instead of my bank..cheaper interest.. Good luck to you.

Yes..welcome to the losers club I believe its from the healing process n puree foods even makes it worse (for me)..But it gets better before your soft food...I just brushed a lot, mouth wash but it is annoying...It does get betterI'm two weeks post op from my gastric sleeve and just finished my liquid phase. For the last week I have had a terrible taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of. I'm assuming it's from my healing stomach and the lack of "real" food?... Has anyone else experienced this? If you have, does it eventually go away?

I think you should keep your schedule as is and do what GaCaldwell does..that extra day off in the beginning would help with the fatigue you may experience.. Packing your own food/snacks is the key everyday. Good luck to you

I have the same concerns the only ppl that know this is happening are the ppl I speak to personally. I still have to have my absence noticed signed by my supervisor and I'm not telling her what it's for either. But when I return I'm sure they'll notice me coming down. But they do know I'm dieting so whatever ...

I understand completely.. A lot of people don't know not that its a secret but I am not that tell my personal business kinda girl period...So you can only tell them ..you watching what you eat n that's that..Good luck on your journey. I'm 2months out so I don't worry about others cus I work with my own demons myself.I was warned about this but now it is so obvious people are hating on me for having success with weight loss. I have a friend who is always trying new diets and asking me to join her. I always politely decline. I have lost about 43 lbs and she looks about the same. I can see her looking me up and down and making comments about me not eating my food. I haven't brought myself to tell very many people about my surgery. I am not sure what is holding me back. My husband, daughter, parents, and best friend know. I plan to eventually let people know but I am just not quite ready yet.......????

Me too..I made a mistake before my surgery and told 2 co workers n one of them now has a love hate attitude towards me to the point I know she is being fake n try to mess up my program..I do eat away from people for the same reasons. It is hard, they are jealous. This is why I have not told many people, I'm starting to get comments about weight loss and I just wish that people would ignore it for now. I have such a long way to go and I am fighting my own fears of failure. I get comments daily from coworkers on what I am or am not eating and I am almost at a point where I want to just go eat in my car because I do not want to hear anyone's opinions about any of it.

Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Posted
I'm a private person so discussing my personal business was not an issue. I told my daughter and my guy but along with other GI issues I think they didn't grasp any of it only that I was having surgery and they wanted me to be okay. They are proud of my progress and that's all that matter. At work everyone is on a yo yo diet so eating healthier was easy but nothing dramatic has come off at one time so the progress hasn't stirred up too much attention.
