Hi Rosie! I had my sleeve done on Tuesday also! A little traumatic for me too. They couldn’t get a vein (blew 4 before they got a line in with the help of an anesthesiologist and ultrasound machine to find a vein), I started crying because it also got bumped up by about 45 minutes. Overall the pain is slowly receding and I only take the pain meds about twice a day.

Had a terrible time in the hosital , had to stay in recovery till 2am on a stretcher, got into a room at 3 and finally slept. Yesterday was bad , but today I feel good, nopain , little gas and hardly any nausea, I am getting tired.

My surgery is tomorrow and I am nervous and anxious too . To be honest I must have eaten 3000 kcalories yesterday as I was having terrible panic attacks, which I usually don't have . I think that it is normal before any surgery , but I am thinking that in about 30 hours it will be over and I will be happy that it is complete and that I am going to start a new chapter in my life ... good luck to you ......

rosie6 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Any one go home the same day ?
Thanks everyone , I spoke with my MD and he said that he prefers that I stay overnight, however if I feel well enough to go home the evening of my surgery he will let me . Personally I hate hospitals , used to work in one , and They are a huge source of bacteria and infection so it is best to get out sooner rather than later . My surgery is a week from yesterday , so I will let you all know what happens

I told my surgeon that I did not want to stay overnight and he said that if I felt OK I could go home the same day ? Any one do that ?

Forget eating - If you do not have co-morbidity factors then put fishing weights in your pockets next time that you go the Doctor. They are small and you can gain 10 pounds overnight

Mine is September 26, pending insurance approval, but considering that I have met all of the criteria and am getting my gall bladder out at the same time , it should be approved

The ESG is really a waste of money and does not last . I had it done last summer, and lost 15 pounds. I did everything that they told me to do and followed the diet exactly . I had nausea and vomiting in the beginning and was full a lot faster. However I had an endoscopy in January and my MD showed me that the entire thing had come apart and did not last . Although I still eat less I have not lost any more significant weigh and am not going to get it redone . You should opt for the sleeve as it works a lot better
