I'm bipolar and take three meds and there's no way I would go off my meds after surgery. I couldn't face the depression or the mania alone.

December 1st, chest ex ray tomorrow, endoscopy on Friday Cardiologist on Thursday, busy week. Meet with my surgeon the 28th and then a few days to surgery yay

My surgery is December 1st too!I was doing great until my PA met me and started telling me about pulmonary embolisms and how I had to walk every two hours after surgery for ten days or I could get one and die. I tell ya he made me very afraid. I'll be setting my phone alarm for every two hours and walking.

I know what you mean.... I need to have surgery for 2 incisional hernias (got those after my colon resection surgery last year). I need to lose 60 more pounds before I can have the hernia surgery. But I may not get it done right away after I lose the weight. All of these surgeries! Good luck with your recovery and your knee troubles too.

I'm like you, prop it was the caffeine. Post op I need a knee replacement and just don't feel up to another surgery so soon. I'm six days out and with my knee simple walking is painful. First of the year I will feel more inclined for the knee surgery and healing and will be at the gym

No alarm necessary today. My anxious mind woke up at 3am with anticipation of this surgery day. No thoughts really, just visions of closing my eyes on the operating table and opening them in a foreign room, foreign country... what am I thinking? How irresponsible my mom would think I was, my friends would think it's superficial, my husband thinks of the cost...
And as I sit here in the airport, staring at gate H7, I reflect on those thoughts and have 2 hours of alone time before boarding my flight. What is this small town girl thinking? I'm flying to freaking Mexico for a surgery I scheduled and planned less than two weeks ago. That's how I roll... too much planning makes me feel lost in needless details characteristic of my right brained mind. Think. Think. What am I doing here?
My anxiety should have had me in the bathroom by now, but I feel calm. Peaceful. Thankful.
I hated the week of fasting-liquid diet. And now, I feel satisfaction in dominating my cravings while secretly wanting to throat punch noisy sandwich bag guy three chairs down from me. food has bound my soul for so many long years and my reflection feels like an escape. Being stuck on food island, deserted and alone... I used to daydream about life as I'd want it to be and now I have every hope that it can happen.
What am I thinking? I smile. I feel comfort. Peace. Love... for myself. I've never said that before. Then again, I've never made myself a priority--always put others first and care way too much what others think, feel and say. Today, it's all about me. And I think I'm going to love me!

How are you feeling? I must admit it's lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm 6 days postop and still only manage 3-4oz of Protein a day.
Plus having to crush my pills and mix with applesauce is disgusting and leaves horrible taste in your mouth.... plus I cannot walk very much, no energy. I just need to get thru this stage...
I go back to Dr end of week & I'm sure I'll get some answers. The bright spot is I've lost 17.4 lbs since 14 Nov.! Hang in there!

My RNY surgery was Nov 30. I'm now 4 days after, happy to be home and feeling... well - okay!
