Thanks GBlady I never tried the drinkable Oikos that's something I will try and yes I still love the Premier Protein Shakes there delicious I never get sick of them. I forgot to mention I also drink Isopure zero carb Protein Drink in orange or grape I normally have half and cut it with Water. Thanks for all your input. I'm wondering if I need to introduce a little fat into my diet. I have my 4 month follow up visit in a few weeks I will mention it. Thanks

I'm five and a half months out and still drink one Premier Protein shake a day. I also start my day with Oikos Drinkable Yogurt. Both work for my lifestyle and my nutritionist has no problem with it. Drinking a shake probably has nothing to do with you're being hungry. It's probably the Prilosec. I take one 40 mg Prilosec (pantoprazole) a day. Although I still don't get hungry, I know if I have gone too long between eating. If drinking a Protein Shake works for you, you should continue drinking it. I bet the Prilosec will help.

It's kind of like Atkins. Low carb, high fat, allows for the Protein we need. There's a lot of great info on it on a Reddit Keto sub thread. Read the FAQs section if you're interested. I learned a ton there. There are also great searchable posts here.@outsidematchinside is one of the resident experts. Her posts kept me from giving up on it because she's rocked it for huge weight loss and has a lot of knowledge and humor to share.

I'm also doing a parallel effort in mindful eating, which is eating with awareness and non-judgment. The judgment part is what throws us into catastrophiizing one poor food choice into days or weeks or years of eating crap.

My surgeon's office had a six week mindful eating class that was great. We used a workbook by Susan Albers, who I think is from the Cleveland Clinic. I thought it would be only minimally helpful, but it was really excellent.

I'm also lucky enough to live near Jean Fain, who is an expert in mindful eating. She wrote a book called The Self-Compassion Diet, which is also excellent. I have just started seeing her for individual counseling because I've used overeating as a coping mechanism since I was six years old and it's high time I move on to a better existence. :-)

I got hungrier at three months, too. After some initial struggle with sticking to low carb (20-25g per day net carbs), I moved to a ketogenic eating plan. I found that's it's helped a lot in managing my cravings and old food addiction behaviors. I still slip every now and then, but I don't dwell on those times. I try to learn just one new thing each time- like that it's possible to make one not too great food choice in a day without saying, "Why not eat like crap for the rest of the day since I already started down that slope?"

I find that I'm forging new behavior patterns and that helps me look at hunger with curiosity rather than fear.

We (wife and I) were just talking about this last night. It has always been all or nothing. We are either or a diet or waaay not on a diet. It's so much healthier to just accept the slip, log it so that you're accountable, but then get right back to it. Ugh, why has it taken me so many years to come to what seem such obvious conclusions?

I had that problem too a few months post op and my dr said at a follow up to try a Protein Shake w more sugar in it, like Ensure or Carnation. It did help some. I was also drinking Premier or Pure Protein but I was starving an hour after drinking. When I ditched the protein shakes completely I felt less hungry.

I understand completely thanks so much. I'm switching it up a bit I bought this Bariatric oatmeal a few months ago I wasn't crazy about but I just had a packet it was very satisfying and high Protein. Let's see I also started taking my Prilosec again this morning I hope this helps I can't take that hungry growling stomach. Best regards

I was sleeved on feb 9th. Basically the worst problem I've had was that "feeling like I've done 1000 push ups" feelings. It's almost 2 weeks and I've slept on my back every night because it feels like my abs are just free floating in my fatty abdomen LOL it hurtttsss. I was kind of worried cuz the other girls I got sleeved with never had this type of sensation. It was more gas pains for them. But me it's like somebody literally gathered all my muscles and tugged on them for hours (which was done) LOL. IT GETS BETTER!!!!! Last night I slept on my side for the first time. And I can actually get in and out of bed without feeling like I was ran over and kicked by a bull. [emoji106] [emoji23]

I felt miserable for the first week. And it's amazing how every day there is progress. Keep your chin up, try to keep your mind on the positive. IT IS WORTH IT!!!!

    YOU GOT THIS!!!!

Im in the same boat. I was just sleeved on the 15th and I have gas in my chest. All of my pain is focused on my incision where my stomach was pulled out at, but, I walked a mile for the first time today, and after sitting down in my recliner and getting back up, I noticed that it hurts less. Idk if this is a fluk or if the walking is starring to work, but I will walk another mile and let you know tomorrow [emoji173][emoji173][emoji173]

Hi hope you are feeling better. I got my sleeves on 2/14 and was sent home the evening 2/15. I developed a low-grade temp that night think it was 99.9; at the time on my discharge papers said if I developed a temp higher than 101 to call them as that is cause for concern but anything less than that was normal. I did however have a cough that caused me to cough up some blood which was a major concern for me I spoke with the on-call doctor and he was advised that there is some blood in the stomach from surgery that was i'm normal but if I coughed up more that I should go to the emergency room. When I was discharged they provided me with Zofran for the nine to get liquid oxycodone for pain and something like Prilosec Outside from the gas pain I've been pretty good and only used the Zofran twice.

    Good luck to you.

The low grade fever would concern me. I would call the doctor about that one. But I hear the feeling of doing 1000 sit ups is normal.

Hello, I had my surgery on Valentine's Day. The pain was unexpected, day 4 , pain still pretty bad , I'm not sleeping . I do walk as much as I can , gas pretty bad but I am able to keep liquids down . I take pain pills 3-4 times a day. If the fever comes back please call your doctor , also everyone says walking helps, everyone is right!
