  1. If the zytek helps you (and I hope it does!) we probably don't have the same thing going on. The PA told me no pill or allergy cream would help because (and ick, brace yourself) I was itching from the inside out. I hope you feel better soon! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. I didn't have hives, but I had insane itching on my back, underarms and torso. I called the doc's office after day 2 of that and the phys assistant told me that the severe itching can happen because your body is depleted of oils. She told me to eat nuts (walnuts or pistachios, avocado and use olive oils in cooking. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    endoscopy this friday

Ooh Vita, that sounds awful. I didn't think they did them without sedation. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    A Vitamin Question

Thanks Tyani. The brushing right after sounds like a good idea. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    endoscopy this friday

Also @@thenewme2016 -- congrats on the 50lb pre-surgery weight loss. That's a remarkable accomplishment. Here's hoping they hit a good vein right away. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    endoscopy this friday

I had to have multiple endoscopies over the past few years owing to a really screwed up pre-surgery condition with my esophagus (hernia, stricture, etc). It's no big deal -- they will sedate you to the point you don't remember anything. (Edited to add: By no big deal, I mean it's not painful. It may be a little irritating at first, but like I said, you won't remember it after.) Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    A Vitamin Question

Physician's assistant called back and said no on the Patches -- they're apparently not as effective as the Flinstone's chewables (yes that's what they have me taking.) Guess I'll keep choking those down. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Your exercise routine

I work with a trainer two days a week, 60 minute sessions -- free weights, weight machines, TRX set up and stuff like Swiss ball squats (ouchie), planks (double ouchie) and sit ups. I try to get to the gym two other days a week to do cardio but really I should be doing something six days a week. I found I like rowing quite a bit, so will start changing that up between the treadmill. Just not quite there yet. I do feel better when I work out though. Eggs

Pre-surgery, I loved eggs. Post-surgery, they became revolting to me. I'm two months out and back to the point where I can eat half a hard boiled egg, or about half of a scrambled egg, but only a few times a week. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi @@tezjjj Now I'm doing great. I feel pretty energetic, I've lost about 35 lbs (45 to go) and I'm wearing a size I haven't been in since college. Again, my big struggle is getting enough Protein because I'm just not hungry most of the time. I had a "stall" in losing anything about the past 10 days, but I've started again which is kind of a relief. I think the first month or so, you just really need to be kind to yourself and patient with yourself. You doing that? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    What was your "last" meal?

Five Guys burger. It was a very good burger indeed. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    So scared!

5'7" and I weighed 240. I'm two months post surgery and am now in a size 14, a place I haven't been since college. I'm not worried about losing too much, but I get where you're coming from. What's your surgery date? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Always feeling tired:/

I was exhausted and unable to do much for the first three weeks. You were under general anesthesia and at four days out, it's still working its way out of your system. Rest when you have to, which will be often, and walk when you can. And good luck -- it gets better! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. I had surgery on Aug. 19. The first month was a huge struggle -- all I wanted to do was sleep, I had to force myself to eat and drink and I had a few complications as well. (Anyone else experience the insane itching that happens when your body is depleted of oils?) Things are going much better now, although I'm still forcing myself to eat and I'm not getting enough Protein. Day by day ... take it day by day. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
