I started couch to 5k about four weeks after surgery and worked my way up to a 5k at six months out a half marathon at 9 months out and a full marathon at 18 months out! You can do it!
Don't worry about the Water. By several months out I could drink normally again!

As I've shared before, I started Aug. 4, 2015. I had an RNY in Shawnee, KS. My starting weight: 504. I posted on my surgiversary, but thought I'd share an update-with pics! Right now I'm 189.

I am one week post op today and I have been feeling very empowered and strong thus far although I agree today has been quite the struggle for me as well (i blame the full moon tomorrow ). I keep on reminding myself to try to find the joy in the journey and not the destination. Tomorrow will be better.

Actually, I was/am quite the opposite. I have always been proud that I found the strength, grit, and perseverance to seek out a path, including a gastric sleeve surgery, that would lead me to a healthy weight. I have been open with anyone and everyone all along, and I dare anyone to say one out-of-line to me about it.

We are all different type of people . Just know you are working hard for yourself . Take you time and relax. Sweetie

After surgery, I spend extra money to have what I crave without giving up the weight loss and high Protein benefits.
Buy Quest Protein chips and get 20 grams of protein from a bag of crunchy chips.< /p>
Heat a Quest chocolate Brownie Protein Bar in the microwave over for about five seconds and it becomes a gooey, chocolate treat.
Get online and find recipes that are bariatric friendly and plan your meals without sugar and flour.
This is a diet and it is a diet for life, so learn how to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Speedy recovery

The day has finally come. I'm currently sitting in the waiting room at the hospital getting ready to head into preop. I'm so excited and nervous. I've been through such a wild ride so far, and I know it's just beginning. Managed to lose 17 lbs on preop, and 111lbs since my journey began in January. Here's to the new start of the rest of my life!

If it were me, I'd do it. Even though it's not easy, the changes are positive ones. But you have to do what's right for you. *hug*

I'm 38 and also 5"5'. My dr said his goal for me was 170, I am currently at 155. I have been heavy my entire life so this is all new for me. My heaviest weight was 376. In my pic below the after is at about 162 but that's the most recent pic I have.

So I had my gastric sleeve done yesterday at noon After I few unforeseen issues i was given the option of rescheduling I decided to get it done . I was really nervous going in wondering how bad the pain and nausea was going to be . I woke up groggy and in very minimal pain. No nausea! Best was to describe it is sore your abandon is sore . I'm only taking pain meds cuz why not ? But I would be ok with nothing.what hurts the most is my throughly because of the tube . I sore and painful to swallow but seriously other then that this gal feels great ! thank you RWJ hospital

Honey it will all be over before you know it. I pray that God gives you the strength to pull through this struggle. It's a process , trust me we all fail but we have to get our minds back on track. You're amazing! Tomorrow will be 4 weeks on liquids only for me as well, but I had my RNY two weeks ago. I found trying new Protein shakes and combining different broth helps.
