I'm 40 days out and I'm still always tiredHi everyone,
Just wondering...is it common to be extra, extra sleepy all the time after getting the vsg? The last pain medication I took was around 4am. I'm to take it every four hours as needed, so it usually wears off by the 4 hour mark. I have slept all day long and am still tired. I could lie down right now and fall asleep easily. I'm not light-headed or anything unusual, but the constant sleeping is making is difficult to get all my fluids and Protein in. I try to stay awake and keep myself focused, but I drift off while reading, watching tv, knitting, browsing the internet, etc. When I'm awake, I try to walk as much as possible, but the second I'm done, I'm ready for another nap.
I'm not ready to drive just yet and there are limited places in my house where I can get comfortable, so I feel a bit tied to my bedroom.
I've never had any kind of surgery or anything done, so I thought maybe my body is still just in "wtf did you do to me" mode, but I'm not sure. My post-op appointment is on Wednesday and I'll bring it up then if there is no immediate cause for concern.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thank you all!

I'm 3 1/2 months post op and I have fairly regular gastrointestinal pain. It feels like unyeilding pressure. It makes me think that it's gas, but I'm not sure. Sometimes certain things like lying down, moving around, or curling up in a ball relieves it, but sometimes it doesn't. I'm fine until the pressure hits. Then I'm absolutely miserable. I get overheated and I start to panic a little when I can't get it to stop. Anyone else having this issue?
I'm 20 days post op .. and I'm expecting this type of pain to . It's so weird I can lay down and not feel it and then get up and it's there .. what I have done was to message my back and middle chest area . But if I start to freak out I go take pain medicine and boom gone
That's why I have the pain medicine for pain !!!

Hello....I too believe in the same One that created you. I'm scheduled for October 4th. I was hoping to have the sleeve but after my endoscopy, I have a large hiatal hernia so I will have to have the bypass. You can do this! When you are in doubt call on the One who keeps us from falling. I'm praying for you and happy belated birthday!

I used to work helping people with Social Security disability.
You have to not be working for 12 consecutive months to apply for Social Security disability, generally. There are some exceptions but not many. It can take anywhere from 6 months to 3 years to get approved (depending on denials and appeals).
First, if you're under 50, they will make their decisions based on all jobs in the economy. For example, if you are doing a moderate to heavy physical labor job, if they think you can do a desk job, you may get denied (regardless of whether you have the training to do a desk job). If you're over 50, it's a bit easier to get approved. Second, you need to have thorough medical records. Feeling something but not having it documented by your doctor means it doesn't exist as far as what Social Security looks at. It's not easy, unless you (unfortunately) have a terminal or totally debilitating illness.
You should do it if you feel that it's what is best for you. I just wanted to give you some information from my experience. This information is not intended to be legal advice.

Yesterday my mother decided to give me the "taking the EASY way out" speech... AGAIN!!! But I feel better today. I know it's my decision. You would think at the age of 36 it wouldnt even effect me. But sadly it still does.... everytime:(
It's not the easy way out .. believe me doing nothing keeps u stuck

Just need to vent to people that might actually understand what I'm going through. I have a surgery date finally after putting my foot down to people who were against it. It just seems like every time I get one step ahead something always happens. I just feel so defeated and feel like it's just not going to happen or it wasn't meant to be. I know this surgery will be a game changer for me. I just wish I didn't have so many negative people impacting my happiness about it.Sent from my SM-G930W8 using the BariatricPal App[/quot

I was paralyzed in an accident 5 years ago, I am still paralyzed, durining the 5 years weight crept on and made my life even more difficult. I decided to do the bariatric sleeve. I looked at hospitals in Thailand, Mexico and India. Mexico was closest so I picked Mexico. I wish I went with India. Mexico had me scheduled out of hospital within 24 hrs, India asked me to stay 10 (same price). They gave me a link with super basic food info. Said I can take any meds I want. I am scrambling to find out when I should be feeling (my left side is in pain and I am suffering severe orthostatic hypotension) the team here in Mexico just seemed to want me out out out. I paid for an extra day. My bill has gone up from $4800 quote to $6000. With no support. So I am hoping to gleen some guidance from you all here! I am on day 5 and only had chicken stock, juice and Water. I am a little hungry but can handle 2 more days. I can't move so I am always in great discomfort. I fly tomorrow and and worried about how I will manage. I worry I won't have enough care at home (I live alone) Day 7 what can I eat? Day 14 what can I eat?
I am 5'8 210lbs and hope to get down to 150 and start my journey of rehab in hopes to walk, or at least stand one day. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1477666809.514960.jpg
