I hate to break it to some of you experts here, but the dating world has ALWAYS been brutal, even for us cavemen who had to do it back when the earth was still cooling. The methods may have changed, but human nature has remained pretty much the same for the past 5000 years.

I'm single, older but single. Instead of focusing on the sagging skin I'm going to have I'm focusing on having my health back and being able to actually live my life again.. Yes, the dating world is brutal.. And I've been in the world of hookups n all that.. After going through what I have the past few years with my health I'd already mad the decision that I don't want to be with anyone that just wants to F**K they have to be someone that would enjoy my company whether they were sleeping with me or not.. Part of the problem when you're a plus size woman (usually) you don't have any confidence in yourself.. You have to learn to love yourself no matter what you look like..

That's how I roll, too.............I wear camo garb to bed and try to provide the whole Duck Dynasty experience......or is it Duck DieNasty. My beard could use a little work.....perhaps if I let it grow long enough It'd hide things well, too.
Combination of camo and low lighting and is all good at gametime. At that point its all about the right theme music in the background and hoping the arthritis meds kick in at the right times. Geriatric spidermonkey.
It ain't purty, but it's how I roll.

"How long does nicotine stay in your blood? Nicotine is usually detectable in a blood test for 1-3 days after the consumption of a tobacco product.* However, the length of time that nicotine stays in your system may vary based on how much or how often you smoke, and may also be affected by your age and general health. In addition, sometimes cotinine levels are used to determine nicotine’s presence in the body. Cotinine is what nicotine becomes when it is metabolized in the body. If this is the case, it can take 1-10 days." ... There..googled it.. Now.. Don't do it again! I quit last February and haven't smoked since.. And won't because when I lose all this weight I'm going to want skin surgery! .. Stay strong! *hugz*

This will definitely change once you move to solids. I was also confused by how much I could get down at first but once I started on purees a few bites was more than enough!

The worst thing for me was the leak test the next morning (an AWFUL TASTE). I was a bit loopy for the first day, then I was walking around the ward floor 2-3 times a day - VERY SLOWLY.
What to pack: 1- a Positive Attitude, 2- a loose fitting warmup suit for the trip home, 3- something to read and something to listen to, 4- COMFORTABLE SHOES. I made a travel bag of stuff that I never even opened - pack LIGHT and be EXCITED for the New Life you are about to enter into!

Maybe I am viewing it wrong, but surgery doesn't really make the weight come off. As @@KittyV mentions, you need to take in less calories than you need to burn. Doing that under normal circumstances makes us snarly, hungry, and generally unpleasant.
Surgery removes the volume of our stomach, plus a big part of it (in some circumstances) which produces the hunger hormone ghrelin. That gives us a chance to eat lots less while still retaining our humanity. It does do some other things to our metabolism, but most of our weight loss is through changing habits and a proper attitude. That is, if you want it to be permanent.

Today I'm 1 week post op! It was hard the first few days and discouraging but I'm finally keeping fluids down and getting better at reaching my Fluid intake. I'm starting pureed foods tomorrow! Can I say how excited I am to have cottage cheese and mashed potatoes!!! Hoping diet tolerates and I can continue to progress but my whole mind set is much better. I picked up some protein2o and it helped so much with giving me nutrition since I was only taking in sugar free Jello and Water.

Ok, this recipe is so good I am compelled to share.
I was doing my normal once-a-month cooking frenzy where I prepare and freeze a months worth of lunches and one of the recipes I chose this time was the Chili Relleno Casserole from the World According to Eggface site. Instead of using leftover turkey, I use some leftover chicken breasts I had grilled and frozen awhile ago and needed to use up.

    Photo (from the site):

I prepared it as instructed and divided it into 5 portions, here is the nutrition information I came up with via MyFitnessPal per portion:
    Calories: 236
Carbs: 21.7g (14g of this is from the black beans)
    Fat: 6.4g
    Protein: 22.9g

I am 6 mths out and I can only eat 1/2 cup of tuna salad. Anything else is more like 1/4 cup. It is important to stop eating when you feel satisfied or your intuition tells you to stop. Right now, your nerves cannot signal fullness in the manner you can recognize.
Also at 2 weeks out I drank 2 Protein shakes a day. You can always add unflavored Protein powder to other things you choose to consume on your plan. After surgery is a lot of figuring out what works best for you.

#Raw reality. So so soooooo proud of me! 8 days shy for my 10th Month Surgeryversary . From a size 20 to a 12, 40DD to 34C, from a 3X to a Large (fitting big a bit), from 289.7LBS starting weight to 258LBS on my surgery date... 160LBS today. I have tons of excess skin! Since I'm almost at my goal weight I am waiting to hit that 140LBS to start my workout routine so far I got to do 20 crunches to start on my belly and got to do 10 push-ups... I'll be honest... that's the most I EVER go to do it without struggling or hurting. This guys, is amazing to me because I am pushing myself to do what I have to do. I was smiling the whole time while I was doing my crunches . #Bariatric | #WLS | #GastricBypass | #WLSCommunity | #RNYLife | #BariatricBabes | #20MorePoundsToGo | #9MonthsPostOp
