FunkyMunkyBrat reacted to Hazel_eyez in Reward for meeting weight loss goal
Hey guys, so I am up just day dreaming before work about how I want to reward myself for meeting me weight loss goal.
I think I want to plan a vacation outside the country, maybe close to home since there are still so many places I have never seen.
Do/did any of you have any weight loss rewards planned? If so, what are/were they?
It has been too many discouraging post lately, so I want to have happy thoughts!❤
Fyi: I am only 2 months post-op so I have some months a head of me. But, this helps me to stay focused when I exercise and eat.

You just do it.. If you can't do it now what do you think is going to happen AFTER surgery? .. You have to follow rules the too or you could not only make yourself sick but could cause yourself serious harm.. You have to St your mind to making the changes and do it or the surgery won't do a thing for you.. Be strong

BTW.. That liquid diet is for your benefit.. To shrink your liver to help surgery go well

I agree with everything Munky said.
If you are on a liquid diet, then you need to follow it. It's as simple as that. I did it. Others have done it. If you really want this surgery to work, then you will do it NOW.

My sister had bypass about 15 yrs ago and ended up sedated in intensive care on a ventilator for a month.. That being said.. Her surgeon wasnt worth a shit.. She never quit smoking.. And she ha severe hernias.. Shes doing well now and she did lose all her weight.. But had she not had her problem I probably would have done this sooner.. Needless to say my whole family was a little nervous and everyone was at the hospital for my surgery.. Parents sisters and sons.. I'm blessed with a very supportive family.. I hope even if your mom doesn't want you to do this she'll manage to be supportive *hugz*

liquid diet is really hard. But post surgery diet is really hard too. You need to have a long think about whether you are ready. Right now, it isn't life threatening, but it will be after surgery. If you think you are ready, then prove it to yourself by following your diet this week.

3 months. I'm happy to say that I'm almost 5 months smoke free and could not be happier! Follow the instructions of your surgeon, or Do one better and stop now no matter how far away surgery may be. You will thank yourself in the long run. Good luck!

My doctor made me be smoke free for 2 months before he'd even let me begin any of the other processes so I ended up quitting in February(and he tested me) and by the time all the tests n specialist appts were done my surgery wasn't till November (and tested me again)

I found quite the opposite I love the new healthy lifestyle and foods. I cook way more there is so many options I just never used before. Go to a nutritionist weekly for new ideas if your struggling. My Insurance Kiaser has a weekly group for free that's done with a nutritionist . Maybe your has something.

It put a smile on face! Hard work w/ after surgery. Today walking around at our local flea market it put tears to my eyes when a local said "you are getting skinny" I am a week away from being two months out! The changes are unbelievable!

I'm actually a little over a month. My surgery was on 21/7. I'm down 29 lbs. I can't believe it! I feel amazing, and have noticed that when I go up and down the stairs a million times per day, I'm often running! Who would have guessed?
We're deep into winter in Minnesota (-14 degrees here today) and I don't DO outside in winter much, so I've been walking 2 miles a day on my treadmill. I have to fight my son for it though, because he runs several miles per day *as a reward*. If only we all loved running so much.
Eating has been going ok most of the time. I'm on solid food now, but I'm still figuring out what things I can't eat. For example, today for lunch was 1/2 a turkey Breakfast sausage and 1/2 an egg. (so a total of about 10 small bites, eaten over half and hour.) Nope! One of them was not ok, causing me to throw up for the first time since surgery. Oh man, my chest hurts SO BAD when I've taken one too many bites!! Feels like an esophageal spasm. Happened in a restaurant a few days ago. So not fun.
As long as I think about it, I have no trouble getting my Water in. I have several alarms set on my phone. They say things like "start drinking now" and "stop drinking now" and "start eating now" so I can be sure to follow the 30/30 rule. This works pretty well for me.
The last couple of days I have noticed I feel hungry now. STARVING somethings, but if I just drink my water or have a couple bites of a Protein snack, it goes away.
Constipation is probably my biggest enemy these days. I'm kind of in a weight loss stall right now and feel like if I could just POOP I'd lose again! LOL Every number I hit, I feel unsatisfied with it. Like, I was stuck at 185 for a week. The day I hit 184, in my head I was all, "Yep, there's 184, but that was so yesterday. I want 183 now."
Anyway, so far I'm so happy I did this, and can't wait to see where I'm at in June!!

I wish I had done it sooner.. I DO have health issues.. I have Fibromyalgia (no big deal) but then 4 years ago now I got Lymes Disease which caused me to have lots of pain n gain wait.. Then on top of that I developed Lyme induced arthritis..hips and back are a mess and even more pain.. I'm crippled up trying to lose weight to maybe help with that plus IF I end up having to have hip replacement I don't want to b 300#s.. So, good for you for thinking ahead!! Good luck in your journey -*hugz*
