Asmundson69 got a reaction from MSer07 in Help to re find the rhythm of weight loss ?
Need help getting back on track as well. I started out awesome and I've only list 72 pounds in 9 months. I was going to the gym at least 3 times a week. One of my problems is that I commute to and from work over 140 miles a day. So it's so easy to make excuses on why I can't get to the gym. But one of the things I've noticed is that I'm ratting more than 4oz at a time. How do I reset my pouch. I've done so well that I need to think of me again. Any suggestions would be awesome.

My starting weight was 294. I am now 116. I NEVER thought I would be a 39 year old mom that can wear a size 0. I didn't seek that out as a goal, it just happened. My doctor gave me the goal of 135-145. I hit the top end of the goal in 9 months. It took about 3 months to lose the other 10 pounds. I started training for my first half marathon in July of last year and got down to 121 then. Even though I stayed the same weight, during that time I went from a size 6 to a size 2. I lost more weight after stopping birth control.
With all that said....how you look after is based on so many different factors. I lost 178 pounds, but have minimal excess skin. I know others that have lost 80 pounds and have LOTS of excess skin. I give credit to my workout regime in part. You cannot just do cardio, you must do weight training.
The hair loss. I experienced that starting the 3rd month through about the 9th month. It was minimal though. I have PCOS and experienced much worse before the surgery. I have been committed to getting my Protein and taking my Vitamins.
I agree with the others. Looking a certain way is still healthier than being obese or morbidly obese in my case.

    This is understandable.
The thing is that most people don't look sickly for long or just don't loose enough to be skeletal. Once people hit their nadir weight, things tend to even and shift. Just like @@JamieLogical said. Will you have loose skin, probably. It really isn't as bad as it may seem. I'm much happier with my saggy skin and being able to do more. Also a lot healthier.
Also sometimes people might tell you to stop loosing weight because
    they are jealous,
not used to you being smaller,
not sure what a healthy weight looks like,
etc, etc, etc. The reasons go on and on.
The truth is that we are used to ourselves heavy. It just takes time for us and others to get used to us being skinny/skinnier. In time we can develop new identities about ourselves. That is really all it is. Learning to accept looking different.

When it comes to faces, it does seem like a lot of us go through phases where we look a little sunken and sickly, but it does seem to even out eventually. Age seems to have a lot to do with it. For younger people, the skin and plumpness seem to bounce back eventually in maintenance. For older people, they can end up with some sagging skin in their neck and jowls.
But I will say the same thing about this as I do to the people who fear hair loss and loose skin... no one ever died from it. People die every single day from obesity-related illnesses!

You got it right in your original question, Sugarplum. O-N-E-D-E-R-L-A-N-D. Two E's. Onederland, because the first numeral is "one" as in "one hundred [100]." Irritatingly stupid coinage to be worn proudly.

My surgery practice doesn't count coffee as Water.
To get in enough water/flavored Water, start as soon as you wake up. Go pee, then drink a glass. Drink another about half an hour after if not sooner. That's a good start to the day.

Onderland means you weigh under 200 lbs. As for Water, you just have to make yourself. I use water flavoring drops, crystal light, and plain old water. Dehydration is never good for your body. All of your organs, skin, muscles and brain need it.

Wow, you look amazing for only 2 months out. You can see those curves coming through.
I'm "doing the deed" tomorrow and am a little nervous and wondering if I'm doing the right thing. But seeing the results like yours makes me feel confident in my decision. Everyone asked me why I didn't want to wait until after the holidays for the surgery, and I kept saying why wait another month when I could be down 20-30 pounds by then. I've been fat long enough and have definitely ate my share of Christmas Cookies. lol

I don't know what your nutritionalist said, but mine is ADAMANT about only eating 3 meals a day -- and not snacking throughout the day. The entire point of the sleeve is that it shrinks your stomach so you can only eat a little bit; if you're eating constantly throughout the day, you're basically undoing what it's done, because it doesn't limit your intake at all.
I'd definitely suggest cutting back to 3 meals a day plus MAYBE one snack. That seems to be standard with everyone I've spoken to, and every meal plan I've seen anywhere...
It'll also help with the Water, since you're not supposed to eat & drink at the same time. If you're always eating, how do you wait 30 min before/after eating?!

My plan recommends having several small meals per day. It is all about meeting Protein and Water goals. In my experience, it would be next to impossible to get all of the Protein in by only eating 3 times.
Bottom line -- seek out guidance from your surgeon/nutritionist/etc. They know your situation better than anyone.

My instructions are to eat 5-6 small meals a day, Protein shakes can replace a meal, with my primary focus being Protein and Water. I'm able to eat slightly more than 1/4 cup of food at a time, at 3 months post.
What I do during the week is pack what I call my "feed bag" with easy to eat things that comprise all of my calorie allotment minus Breakfast and dinner in an insulated lunch bag. I have a notification on my phone to remind me to eat every 4 hours in case I forget (which I do frequently). When I get to feeling hungry, I pull something out and eat it. That way my total intake is measured but I don't have to worry overmuch about measuring each meal.
I keep my Water cup full with cold water, sometimes with flavoring to mix it up.
It's at home on the weekends where I still need work. I'll completely forget to eat for most of the day, and forget to drink water.

Asmundson69 got a reaction from my new beginning 2016 in Eating too much?
So I'm so confused at times if I'm doing the right things. I work with a couple of people who have had the same surgery so of course were always comparing. I'm the newbie of the group so I'm always asking questions. I'm 0 weeks post op and have list 45 pounds. One of the things I'm always questioning is the amount of food I'm consuming throughout the day. For the most part I try to weigh everything but there are times I can't. But I seem to always seem to want to eat about every 3 hours is that normal. I don't eat a lot but I'm always snacking on something primarily cheese. That's the other thing I have crazy cravings for coffee, cheese and sea food like shrimp or crab. Anyone else have crazy cravings since surgery
