Also try popcicles. . I was the same way with my Protein shakes, could not get them down . The smell and taste made me sick. I was told just to get what ever liquids I could. Popcicles was it for me.. finally I was able to drink different things. I'm 8 weeks out now and just now getting all my Water in. My Protein is easy now.
    Good luck

Just wanted to do a 3 month update! I had my surgery on 8/31/2016 in Atlanta, GA. Highest weight 330lb.... surgery weight 319lb...... current weight 265lb. I can truly say I feel great! I'm not where I want to be but the progression there has definitely been enjoyable even when my weight stalled. To everyone who's just starting their journey keep pushing you will be glad you did in the end. Happy Holidays

Hello everyone! Just found this app and it's brilliant! I'm 7 days post surgery after a gastric sleeve. I think I'm doing pretty well so far I'm only really struggling to take in enough Water etc. I find drinking slowly and sipping often is the best for me. I'm looking forward to giving and getting support on here.

nannare reacted to simpsongrad in today marks 4 week post op - already feel the difference
It is amazing how much this surgery can change your life. It has been just four short weeks since my surgery today and my resting heart rate has dropped from mid sixties to high 40 beats per minute. I have lost 19 pounds and dropped a size and a half in clothes. There is a considerable difference in my face, complexion and i feel so good! i have just moved on to soft foods and while there are still some foods that don't go down that well, nothing has made me sick or nauseous, and I am so very glad I had this done. I am no longer considered "morbidly" obese and am fully confident that after a year I will be close to an actual normal BMI. I am so glad I that i did this and know it was the right decision for me.

I walk 4 days a week, for about 30 minutes. I have fibromyalgia really bad so too much puts me in bed for days at a time. I'm still only eating about 800-1000 calories a day, 1000 is really pushing it. My dr wants me to be eating 1200 but it's just not possible. I usually have about 50 grams of Protein. I do not drink my Protein. The shakes killed my stomach I tried every protein recommended by my dr and other people and then some, it all made me really sick. I had found some really good ones but they made me so sick I couldn't keep drinking them. tuna, chicken, Greek yogurt, and cheese are my go to Proteins. I get around 50 carbs a day (Drs recommendation). I still drop pounds from time to time. But it's not like it was in the beginning. My dr actually told me at my one year appointment I could only lose 10 more pounds before they would start getting worried about losing too much. So I'm trying to just stay where I'm at. I don't really do anything in particular to lose, I just follow my Drs plan. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Welcome to being a sleever. I eat so I don't pass out. I don't get excited about food unless I am eating out and I get to try something new, otherwise it's kind of a pain in the butt. And frankly I like it this way. I lived 38 years getting way too excited about shoving food into my face, looking forward to a meal 8 hours in the future, of letting food run my life. I love that I could not give a crap what I am eating tomorrow, so long as it is Protein rich, I'm aight with it.

I followed my doctor's plan to the letter as far as eating and nutrition was concerned. I did go to the gym at first, but I just didn't like the gym. What I found that I loved was dancing. I started going swing and latin dancing a couple times a week, also tried Zumba, did some dance classes - just loved all of it. I eventually ended up choreographing all my own shows (I'm a musician) and that kept me in the best shape of my entire life!
I've kept my weight off for almost nine years and I credit dancing!

    Hi everyone,
So, 18 months after I had my sleeve I am booked in for my first plastic procedures. Having been over weight my entire life I need the works, tummy, arms, thighs, back and one day face/neck! I'm starting with these two as I'm not certain if I'm done with having babies or not so as much as I'd love to do my stomach first, that's gonna have to wait!
So...I'm booked in for 23 Nov Got my pre op tests next weds. Getting very nervous about it... not so much the surgery as the recovery. I will have help but have a five year old daughter so there will be some stuff I just have to get on with. I am booked in for 2/3 nights in hosp (I am in the U.K.).
Any advice, experience or words of wisdom anyone has for recovery etc would be very gratefully received!? Practical things I can have at home ready etc.
I am planning to get a walker and raised toilet seat with frame. I'm not sure what my surgeon provides in terms of compression, so any recommendations there would be great too!
    Thanks in advance :-)
