I had my gastric sleeve done January 11th. I weighed 333.1lbs.
I'm 10 months post op now and weigh 144.2lbs.
I've set new goal weights as I've gone along...first was just to get under 200lbs, then I thought I wanted my goal weight to be 180lbs. When I got there, I made the crazy goal of 150lbs never thinking I'd make it....but I did. So then I figured my goal would be 145lbs which puts me at a normal bmi...which I haven't been since I was around 10.
Now that I weight 144lbs, I've decided my final goal will 133lbs, which will mean I will have lost a total of 200lbs....and I'll do it, I know I can.
I never thought when I had surgery that weighing in the 130's would even be possible.
I've gone from wearing sizes 5-6x, and 28-30, now I wear smalls and mediums and am a size 8....I would be around a 6 if it wasn't for the large amount of skin I have around my stomach and thighs....but it's a price I'm more than happy to pay.
I've been extremely disciplined this whole 10 months. I can honestly say I've never put a bad food in my mouth...not once. I follow a very low carb diet still, drink about 85oz of Water every day and get in around 80oz of Protein. I take all my required Vitamins daily.
The gym has become a big part of my life. I workout around 5-6 days per week doing a variety of exercising....spin class, step  class, yoga, cardio machines....I like doing different things so I don't get bored.
Anyway, because I'm so close to goal, I just wanted to share this. And for the people who have a lot of weight to lose like I did....remember, you can do this! I'm living proof!!

Make sure you are walking at least 30 min per day and that should help if it is gas. Congratulations

    Oh my!!
I have gone online and researched the calories that are in foods that I USED to eat quite often. I must have been in quite a state of denial. I can't believe the calories in these foods! Plus the carbs and sugar. I know that as post WLS we don't focus on calories as much as +protein
and -carbs/sugar, however I can see from this quick research that what I was consuming regularly pushed me WAY over what I needed in calories and carbs.
I now track just about everything I eat. Someday I will relax and not track so much but it is helping me a lot right now. Here is a list of stuff I used to eat pre-surgery and when I was in complete denial.
Starbucks Iced Lemon Pound Cake: 470 calories, 68 carbs (yikes).
Starbucks chicken Artichoke on Ancient Grain Flatbreat (sounds healthy, right?) 510 calories, 37 carbs.
McDonald's Big Mac: 563 calories, 44 carbs. (Hello, I'm Kel. I'm a recovering Big Mac Addict.)
Jack-in-the-Box Portobello Mushroom Buttery Jack: 810 calories, 51 carbs. (!!!)
    Jack-in-the-Box Breakfast Platter: 640calories, 47 carbs.
Jimmy Johns Club tuna Sandwich: 1000 calories, 73 carbs.
Snyders' of Hanover Honey Mustard Pretzel Pieces, 3 oz bag: 420 calories, 60 carbs.
Einstein's Everything Bagel with Regular Cream Cheese: 430 calories, 60 carbs.
Loaded Baked Potato w/sour cream, cheese and bacon bits: 535 calories, 62 carbs.
And to think on any given day pre-surgery life I might have had 2 or 3 of these items. Sleeve life is truly a learning journey!

I had that same feeling every single time I took a sip of Fluid for the first 2 weeks. Now that I'm several months out, I know that was NOT the 'full' signal. You won't really feel your restriction with fluids only, and you really need to be sipping on something pretty much the whole time you're awake to get your Protein and fluids. Fluids move very quickly through your stomach, and you will have to work to get all of what you need in during the first few weeks. Don't let that feeling stop you, my doc said it was just my pyloric valve spasming when Fluid hit it. It will ease up over the next week or so, most likely.

Wow I can not believe tomorrow is my surgery! I remember 4 weeks ago when the doc gave me this date I thought it was ages away. But now its only one sleep away.
Honestly I've been average on the pre-op diet. Only doing two meals replaced a day and sometimes not the best choices for the other meal and some Snacks. But I have made a lot of positive changes to my habits.
As for emotionally I've been in therapy for 3 years, I have Complex Post Traumtric Stress Disorder from childhoold aduse (won't go into detail but a really horrible childhood). I depended on food to get through it, I used food to help me hide my pain and memories through my teens and 20's but now I've learned new ways to tackle life and food has a lesser grip on me. I think more clearly before eating, I don't binge everyday. I'm not perfect! I still make mistakes with food but I'm happy with where I am before this surgery.
My pyshratric Doc sent of my back ground to the hospital so the recovery nurses will know I can be triggered by waking up and being in a different environment. The ward is happy for my hubby to stay overnight in my room to help me if memories and anxiety are triggered. So I'm set.
Sister in law comes tonight to stay with my kids. Just need to finish my bag.
Yeek it's here! I'm down 4kg (about 8ish pounds) in preop.
My mind is struggling with the fact I'm going to lose weight... it's like "what??"
In my life I haven't lost more than 15kg but then put it back on.. my mind is struggling with the concept..
