I haven't read any responses so I might repeat what others have already mentioned...please go see a therapist! It is so important for your well-being. I feel like the mental battle with food is worse than the smaller stomach. At 3.5 weeks I was still on purees so I'm not sure how you are even tolerating solids yet.
My doctor said that for the first 3 months anyone and everyone will lose weight and after that you are on your own because you are eating solid foods. Please see someone so you can get this under control.

@@Charisma - I saw your greek yogurt post. I will say that I can easily eat 5-6oz of yogurt (5 months post-op) but if I eat 3-4oz of chicken I am totally stuffed - like I know my limit stuffed. You will get to that full feeling but for me - yogurt never made me feel FULL. I hope that makes sense.

Lol I have a "friend" at work who likes to say she lost her weight the "real way" and "on her own" and I just gently remind her that I'm in the gym 4x a week for 90 minutes and weigh and measure everything - trust me, I have a tool but I'm most definitely doing it on my own. I don't have anyone doing anything for me.

Honestly, the only advice I have is probably what you've heard before...
talk to a nutritionist, measure and track everything and I mean EVERYTHING, and get that Water in!!
I'm sure it's frustrating but you've successfully lost 50lbs. That's a large amount of weight! Just don't give up!

I agree with what the previous poster said.
I have people who have said - don't get skinny and become a B. My response was jokingly - you mean more than I already am? I just let it roll off my back. I know I'm not changing!

Only a handful of people know about my surgery. To those that don't and ask me how I lose weight all I say is I eat a little and work out a lot. I'm not lying - I do eat very little and I do work out a lot.

Pre-op and post-op I have 3 shots of Decaf espresso over ice with a vanilla Protein shake added. It's like an iced latte except it has 30 grams of Protein.< /p>
If I want hot coffee I just add a bit of my shake to hot coffee. My favorite flavors to use for Creamer or milk in my latte are Premier Protein caramel or vanilla.
    Seriously, it's my morning addiction.

I see both of those things in the answers running through this thread.
I'm also 3 years out. I think I know why people gain weight back after a certain amount of time. There are too many know it all newer post ops here. You are one of them. You know nothing about maintenence or weight regain at 4 months post surgery.

Unrealistic expectations and unsustainable behavior changes in the beginning are the reasons 47.322% of WLS patients gain back their weight.

That's when people like us (people who don't want to sabotage our own success) scroll by and leave it be. Why stress about someone else's non compliance, they will either figure it out or fail all on their own. And by posting on their thread we are just giving them ammunition to post stupid stuff again to get the right minded people bent just for sh*ts and giggles. Whether they are a troll or just looking for validation why give them the pleasure. That's how I feel anyways

I think if someone really wants to go right back to eating crap that's their prerogative and then they will b*tch that "surgery didn't work for them" to anyone that will listen. I just smile and say "that's too bad" and go on my merry way.
As for posting, I usually breeze past the "I ate total crap 2 days out from surgery" it's not for me and it neither helps me nor enhances my life to comment to the poster. I will however, comment if it looks like that person is trying to avoid old habits and just needs some guidance. Like, it's totally unrealistic to think someone isn't ever going to go out to eat or maybe have something that isn't the greatest (like pb&j) but if I can make a suggestion that might make it a healthier option I'll chime in- I think that's what people are looking for a lot of times is just someone to give them a "try this, not that" suggestion.
It's not for me to judge, they are not living my life nor am I living theirs.

I guess the same can be said why do you read the post if it upsets you that much? I don't mean to upset you, but I still indulge in fast food. Had some Taco Bell this past week and still lost 5 pounds this week and 210 pounds overall. Many normal sized and healthy people still east fast food from time to time. I have a pretty rigid diet but leaving open the possibility of having a fast food meal once a week and don't have to beat myself up over it. Ultimately, who cares what some stranger on a forum eats?

LosinLiz82316 got a reaction from dominyks_mom in Motivation or lack there of
This may sound silly but I was tired of the gym - tired of waking up at 4am - tired of prepping everything the night before - just TIRED! So, to make myself feel better I went and bought new tennis shoes and new gym clothes. I like looking cute in the gym and it worked for me.
Motivation is different for everyone. I know by me saying "just get up and do it" that won't help - but find something that you look forward to and get it in that way.
Do you like group classes? Those are always so much fun especially if you go with friends! Accountability buddies are lifesavers when it comes to gym workouts.

I have a small circle of people that know about my surgery. I've received both positive and negative feedback for my decision. The thing I hate hearing the most is "you took the easy way out". No, this surgery is HARD. You are changing your life. I work out 4x a week 90 minutes at a time.
I'm so glad I kept the circle I told small. When people ask me how I'm losing weight I just say - eating a little and working out a lot. Lol, it's true!
