lalame got a reaction from OscarsMom in Challenges transitioning from liquids
Sleeved September of 2016. The best way for a smooth transition is not to rush into the next steps. Liquids go to thicker liquids ( Protein Drinks, yogurt, apple sauce, pudding), to soft foods.
I survived on refried Beans, soft scrambled eggs. A lot of ideas for your stages on Pinterest.
Good luck .

Congrats! Sleeved 9/6/16. HW 267/ CW 149.
There are great soft food options and recipes on Pinterest. Search Bariatric soft food options Retired beans/ plain yogurt are great.

Robe to walk around in. The staff makes you walk around the floor to move your body and it's cold.

lalame got a reaction from PepperCat in Best Unflavored Protein Powder?
I agree GENEPRO. I found it on a recommendation almost a year ago on this site. If you do a search of unflavored Protein Powder you will be able to read recommendations from other sleevers on this site. Good luck.

lalame got a reaction from iamjohnbamber in Taking a Cruise after Surgery
Thank you for the information! I watched your video and I appreciated your perspective on things. Everyone has their favorite way of traveling don't worry on the critical comments. I was sleeved 9/6/16. I haven't been on a cruise post surgery yet but feel better about it now.

lalame got a reaction from lovie dovie in Hair loss?
@Loviedovie I made a recommendation on one of your other posts. Can't prevent it from happening just take sips and Protein and I also bought a hair Fiber filler powder that you can put in the thinning areas on Amazon. Helped so much.

Try to keep a positive attitude. 31 pounds in three months is over 10 pounds a month. Take a photo of yourself pre-op and put a photo of yourself now next to it. You should see a difference. Sometimes you lose inches and not weight. Keep positive and stay on track. Everyone's weight loss journey is their own. You will lose weight at your own rate. Don't judge your weight loss against anyone else.

lalame got a reaction from Tessa1988 in Let's talk NOT meeting protein goals
Sleeved 9/6/16. I know you don't want to hear about shakes. I stopped drinking them after surgery. They made me nauseous. I did find a recommendation on this app about 7-8 weeks post surgery that suggested GENEPRO. I have been using it ever since. One small scoop is 30 grams of Protein. Doesn't taste like anything. Don't put your nose in it. Made me nauseous to smell it in the beginning. Now i don't notice the smell. I mixed it in yogurt, Soup, and now in my milk for my Decaf latte just to jump start my protein intake. Good luck.

It will get better. All you can do is try your best.

lalame got a reaction from Dashofpixiedust8 in Hunger
I find that everyone has a different plan. Follow yours. I have found that that the standard (on this site) is 64 oz of Water, 80 grams of Protein (give or take a little), and wait 30-45 mins before drinking liquids after a meal.
Sleeved 9/6/16 and I can't drink with food. I always did pre-surgery but it makes me sick and full if I do them at the same time.

lalame got a reaction from LadySin in Baby Food?
I would recommend not eating baby food meats. Honestly you will probably throw up.
If you have the time. Make chicken and purée it in chicken broth. Or strain Soup and add chicken and blend it in blender. Tastes like it should unlike the baby food. Sleeved 9/6/16 starting w: 267. Surgery date w. 233. Current w: 163.

So I'm 6 weeks post op. If you've read my posts before you know I was struggling really bad with not eating things I shouldn't such as bread/carbs/sugar. Well happy to say I got past that. But now I have a new problem, I simply don't seem to eat! I try and try but everything just makes me feel blah and I end up with days like today where all I've had is one cheese stick and some gummy vitamins. Clearly I know this isn't HEALTHY but how will this affect my weight loss goals?! I want to lose as quickly as possible (who doesn't) but I just can't seem to stomach any more food right now. And before someone says Protein Shakes, I can't keep them down. Since I woke up from surgery they make me vomit instantly.

lalame got a reaction from Cheryl Denk in Hair Loss
Sleeved 9/6/16. I have lost about 40% of my hair. My hair was fine but I had a lot of it. 7 months post and I don't see as much falling out. Could be because I don't have any left to lose! I take my Vitamins, Water, and Protein. It is a natural process when your body goes into shock from being malnourished for a long period of time. My doctor compared it to pregnancy Hair loss after giving birth. Doctor did tell me it would grow back. If you do a search on hair in this forum you will get to read what all of the vets said. It happens, can't prevent it and it will grow back. The vets say it will take anywhere between 1-2 yrs for it to come back.
Amazon sells a Fiber hair loss filler that I love! Just put a little bit at the top so no one can see the scalp.
Good luck.
