  1. So I'm getting this odd rash I've never had before in different areas all over my body. It's a bunch of little itchy red dots on my neck behind my right ear, on my chest, and lower back. Does this have anything to do with the sleeve?

I will be 3 weeks out Friday and I'm experiencing the same thing. Does yours itch? Mine does on and off all day!

  2. I was sleeved on the 18th as well..not sure why surgery post diets are so different but my team told me I could have turkey and ham on Thanksgiving. I had it no problems..

I was also sleeved on the 18th and I can't move to puréed until the 9th. They have a very strict diet. I can't wait to be able to have something other than Soup, Jello, and Protein shakes.

  3. We are human. Three weeks of liquid is a long time. If you are going to cheat - broccoli is a good way to go. Be gentle with yourself - you are about to undergo a major life change. 17 pounds is a nice amount -- go buy yourself a new lipstick or other makeup as a reward -- even if its from Walgreens or CVS. Reward the victories. You're doing great.

That is what I was thinking. I definitely look at food a little differently and I still have the bad cravings but I ultimately think about how bad it is and it stops me from those thoughts. I figured if I feel like I absolutely have to have something it needs to be nutritional and low carb. I might have to reward myself with something! Maybe a pedicure! Thank you for your kind words!

  4. I was put on a 3 week diet and I am on day 11 and this has been the hardest thing mentally I have ever experienced. I have lost 17 pounds so far! I have had some weak moments though. I was starving and I just couldn't drink another Protein drink so I ate some broccoli. I know I'm halfway there but another week and a half seems so long. I never really realized the true relationship I had with food until now. I know that I will be able to eat again but it doesn't feel like it at the moment. Some positives have come from it though. I feel like I have more energy. I don't have that bloated feeling. I also think mentally it has helped even though it has been a struggle. I am grateful for the opportunity to do this and I know I can it's just sometimes we need to let it out to people who actually understand what we are going through.

  5. I was drinking 4 of the Bariessentials shakes mixed with almond milk and I was so sick. My stomach was upset and my head hurt so bad. I talked to the PA at my surgeon's office and she said to go back to Premier Protein shakes. They really are the best, and I feel 100% better after switching back. I was also told to make sure I DON'T get the low sodium broth because the sodium is needed to stave off the headaches.

I'm actually starting to like the bariatric shakes! I'm glad the other shakes are better for you.

I really didn't mind the taste! And I liked that I could add powdered Peanut Butter and stuff to it to change the flavor up. It just didn't agree with me.

I was in the same boat with those. They didn't taste bad but my problem was the smell of the Protein Powder. It made me not want to drink them. I like the fact Premier Protein is already mixed so I don't have that issue.

  6. Thanks guys it is starting to get to me. I try to stay busy to get my mind off being hungry that works for a while. Can't wait for bedtime lol! No really!

I feel the same way. I'm on my 6th day of 21 and I am really struggling with it. Good luck with yours! Bed time is my favorite part of the day now!

I feel ya!! All this will soon be over. Take this one stage at a time. At this pount i was scared of how my life would be post sleeve. I thought it would be like this for lifetime and i didn't think I could make such a big lifestyle change. I remember calling my cousin who has had the sleeve to ask her if the hunger would ever end. She assured me to keep pushing forward. The hunger will end.

  7. Wanted to let you know that I was approved by BCBSIL. Found out today, thank goodness. I completed my pre-op appointment today and am on the schedule for gastric bypass on this Wednesday at 12:30 afternoon. Went out and bought sugar free popsicles, wylers sugar free singles, Apple juice, white grape juice, sugar free Jello and chicken broth. Tomorrow is the clear liquid diet, so I will have those items and I have to do a bowel prep. Not looking forward to the bowel prep...... Glad things are moving on.

Appointment with Dr. Macik, Northside Bariatric Surgery Center on October 4th, submission to insurance 10/10/16, BCBSIL/Teamcare approval 10/24/16, surgery 10/26/16. I thank God for his blessings.

Congrats!!! I am so glad to hear that! That is happening quick! I don't get mine until November 18th! Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

  9. @@thmitchell Mine wasn't received for a while but my surgeon knew that it was approved. I would call your surgeon's office - they should be able to look online to see that it was approved. Congrats!

Thank you! I actually called bcbs and asked them to email it to me and they did! I sent it over to my surgeon so I should have a surgery date within the week!!

  10. Thmitchell

Thanks for your response. My file was submitted on 10/10. I had been calling

everyday to see if there is any new progress. Today I spoke with someone who

without directly saying so inferred that I should not call everyday. She also said that many requests were submitted lately. I am glad that you received

your approval yesterday. Hope I will receive my approval very soon.

    Racshelle

Well I hope you get a quick approval. I called everyday just because i hate the waiting game. I called everyday and they were super nice about it. Also I asked them to email me the approval letter so I could get it over to the surgeons office which they did. If you want to call everyday I would still do it to give you a piece of mind. Keep us posted when you get approved!
