Enjoy - it's good to meet with people who are in your same practice. I'm 4 months post op and still go to monthly support group meetings my practice has. I treat them like an AA meeting of sorts - this is a lifelong thing and seeing them in person each month keeps me accountable.

I was too, but my surgeon made the choice for me. I thought I was going RNY but because of my auto immune disease and use of steroids/anti-inflammatories, my surgeon said I needed the VSG. Talk to your surgeon and see what he/she recommends.

Don't be scared - he'll discuss with you what surgery you want - and only suggest RNY if there's a contraindication for you to get the sleeve (or if RNY would be better suited due to medical conditions). I went thinking I wanted LapBand - my surgeon doesn't even do them so he recommended the Sleeve - which I'm glad about - but if I had to do RNY instead - I'd go for that! Why do you think he'll recommend RNY?
