    No support system

I completely understand how you feel, to me it's important to have support unfortunately sometimes if the person can't understand what you are going through it's hard to find support from them. I like the Baritastic social group on Facebook everyone either went through WLS or is in the process and they have been the best of support and this group as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No not yet I'm thinking after the holidays so maybe January. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm in the same boat as you. My surgeon seems to lean on bypass for all his patients beachside you lose weight quicker supposedly but I'm comfortable with the sleeve because it's less invasive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So at my first consult the surgeon really didn't ask me which surgery I preferred. Personally I want the sleeve, but he stated how he rarely does them. What solidified your decision to get the sleeve vs RNY?

    VSG or RNY

Thanks, I am currently looking for more surgeon's in my area. I really want and am only comfortable with having the sleeve done.

    Has anyone had these issues

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, I haven't had surgery yet but it's complications like this that is really scaring me. I pray that all goes well with you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. So as I preparing to pass my boards in two weeks I have a question how has working and WLS been? Which surgery did you have? How do you meet your requirements through your shift, was it hard at first? Do you require more protein to get you through 12 hr shifts I've just been wondering?

  9. I would ask your doctor tomorrow, I think the issue might be in it being raw right, bacteria potential Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Honest opinion

I felt the same way when I went to my first required support group. Everyone was older, I'm 27 btw. I don't feel as though you're too young. Just think at 23 you are seriously thinking and taking charge of your health. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. I sat down with my husband and told him my fears about my health and really why I needed this surgery and now he's back on 100%. He's even asking questions more and seems more interested in the surgery. I'm so excited for whats to come. My psych evaluation and nutrition appointment is coming in two weeks!! I've started back at the gym I'm already feeling my confidence coming back up
  13. @bilzair09 I think for my husband he was scared of the idea of them removing a portion of my stomach and the future of us having kids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Metformin & PCOS

It's awesome to see posts from women who have PCOS and have had positive results from the sleeve. I keep having this fear that the sleeve won't work because I have PCOS. Fears suck am I right? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Tricare Insurance

Does anyone have tricare standard? Right now things seem to be going ok but I go off base for everything and have to find doctors through their provider directory.

    VSG or RNY

@@Inner Surfer Girl I think it's more of a bias he said there not a lot of research done to support the success of a sleeve after 10 years where there is plenty for the RNY. I'm currently doing my own research now.
  19. I'm torn between VSG or RNY?

    1. Armygalbonnie

      Armygalbonnie

I was too, but my surgeon made the choice for me. I thought I was going RNY but because of my auto immune disease and use of steroids/anti-inflammatories, my surgeon said I needed the VSG. Talk to your surgeon and see what he/she recommends.

  22. I've told only three of my friends and they are the only ones who are supportive of me; my family not so much.
  23. Hi I just wanted to say no need to feel embarrassed. I hope its not too personal but why are you getting a revision is it because of the acid reflux. I'm thinking about the the sleeve but Ive started to see a lot of people talk about really bad acid reflux and I'm getting scared. My husband was supportive at first of my decision to have surgery but now he's like there's risks and you wont enjoy food anymore... Anyway I just wanted to welcome you and wish you the best the luck!
