AMJK79 got a reaction from valerieluvs in Here come the haters!
I was warned about this but now it is so obvious people are hating on me for having success with weight loss. I have a friend who is always trying new diets and asking me to join her. I always politely decline. I have lost about 43 lbs and she looks about the same. I can see her looking me up and down and making comments about me not eating my food. I haven't brought myself to tell very many people about my surgery. I am not sure what is holding me back. My husband, daughter, parents, and best friend know. I plan to eventually let people know but I am just not quite ready yet.......????

I have a hard time with that too. Boiled eggs, tuna, low fat cheese, chicken breast, lean steak. You are doing great. I am 40lbs down but I am 5 months out. Keep up the great work!!

I had to stop weighing myself daily and start weighing myself once a week. I think it is important to see your progress, but not obsess about it.

I am a band to sleeve revision. I lost 50lbs with the lap band but put 25 back on. I had the revision done Aug.17th and so far no more pain and belching like with the band. I am 35 lbs total. I went 8 months completely unfiilled with the band to reduce all the swelling and inflammation, I did put on about 10 lbs during that time. It didn't bother me because I knew I was getting a revision. Don't sweat it and follow the steps so you can have the revision soon!! Good luck!!

That's great!! At least you were losing with the band. I was slowly gaining but that was after an up fill for 8 months before I had the revision. I am three weeks post op and I can already tell that it's way better!!

AMJK79 got a reaction from sweesee in Lap band port pain
I had severe port pain when I had the Lap Band. When I would complain, the surgeon would always tell me that the Lap Band was on the other side and that the port shouldn't hurt. As soon as I revised to sleeve, the pain immediately subsided. I'm just glad that I had the revision!! Good luck on getting approved. Don't give up!!

Hello! I had Lapband in Dec 2009. HW 250? Got down to 199 at lowest.. Like many, I had success at first but then the complications set in. In April 2015 I had the revision to sleeve, primarily to just get the band out of me and not re-gain a bunch of weight. On revision surgery day I weighed 211 pounds. By October 2015 (6 months) I weighed 169 and felt GREAT... my lowest adult weight ever. I wanted to lose 25-30 more (I am 5'3"). Over the past year the weight has slowly crept back.... I weigh 189 today. I am going back to the basics.... Protein, Water and walking. My roommate and I had the sleeve on the same date. She had never had a weight loss surgery. We were the same height and she was about 10lbs heavier than me. She weighs 145 and looks amazing. We cook and eat the same things.... she is constantly snacking. I definitely think the second time around our bodies are holding tighter to the fat!! Best wishes. Just stay positive. At the end of the day, I am happy with my weight loss.... maintaining is hard and I live in fear of regaining to 250. I will be watching to see your success!!

AMJK79 reacted to WLSResources/ClothingExch in Band to Sleeve Revision
From what I've seen in BP and heard at support groups, people who go from band to sleeve generally lose at a slower rate than those who chose sleeve at the outset.
More important than "what to expect" is to keep expectations reasonable. That may mean that losing weight meets expectations or that one or two pounds per week is on target. As long as you're losing weight, you're ahead of the game. I don't know whether your rate of loss with the band was indeed "very slow" or how much you lost in what period; it's irrelevant now, as you're no longer working the band. If I'm correct in surmising that you switched to sleeve only because you were dissatisfied with your progress, I can only suggest that you consider new ways to think about the entire process.
Can you live with "I'm losing weight?" If you can get yourself to that place, you'll be much happier than you seem.
In any case, all the best from here on.

Congrats on getting the surgery done. Just take it slow because you are still healing. Don't worry about getting enough Protein in the first week. Just focus on getting enough liquid. It will get better. I literally felt like death until day 5. Hang in there and take it easy.

    AMJK79 got a reaction from KenKen_vsg in 3 days post-op
Yes it is completely normal. I'm two weeks post op and I don't sleep well at all because I normally sleep on my stomach but I can't get comfortable because it's still too sore in my abdomen. I too was so sick of chicken broth. When you get to liquid stage 2 you can have creamy Tomato Soup or any other liquid Soup as long as there aren't any pieces in it. Hang in there. It does get better. Don't even worry about your Protein intake just yet. Just focus on getting your liquid in.

I had a band to sleeve revision and I have 5 incisions. I am two weeks post op and one is still pretty sore. Doc says its normal because that was the deepest incision he had to make.

I just had band to sleeve revision surgery on August 17th 2016 after 4 yrs with the lapband. I would just like so e advice and what to expect. Weight loss with the band was very slow. From what I've heard, the sleeve surgery you drop weight a lot quicker. Just want to get so e ideas and share my story.
