    Blender

The vitamix is amazing. Its an investment but soooo worth It if doable. It really does everything, soups, ice cream, nut butters, shakes..... I also have the magic bullet which is great for shakes, and for the pureed stage.
  3. I'm certainly not going to tell you how you should feel. I would like to offer you some support. Maybe it would help if you concentrate on why you chose the surgery to begin with and what your life goals where when you made the decision. I had mine a week before you, so I'm at one month. It is hard, I am tired and I miss food. I don't regret it because I know why I did it and what I want. I do wish you well and hope time and healing brings you success and comfort.

Second thoughts, op next week :(

No its not worth it if you're still going to pig out on sugar. The point is to have a tool to help you change your eating habits, reduce your intake and to eat healthy. If that is not your intention, why have surgery?

    6 months results!

    Congratulations!!!⭐! Great job
  12. Get the items requested as soon as possible. Cardiac clearance is mandatory especially with sleep apnea. Get the referral from your surgeons office and make the appt. Mine was a nuclear stress test done in 2 days with a follow up for the results. All done 3 days in a row. Good luck to you

    Protein

The directions should be on the can. The protein powders I have call for 8-10 oz of water or milk. I use almond milk when using powders. I drink the premade Premier Protein in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. I also bought Rob Jarrow unflavored protein to mix into things like pureed banana and yogurt. I bought protidiet cream of chicken soup on Amazon which was good. Sugar free ice pops are good too for fluid.

    Ice cream

I was rethinking my quick answer. The answer is still no, but I also wanted to support you in rethinking your relationship with food. We all need to re-establish our relationship with food. For many of us food is our reward, our celebration, our "I earned it". Your desire to Celebrate with ice cream is what our norm is but we have to look at food with a different perception post surgery. Food is what we need to sustain our new healthy living. Our reward is our health and being able to do things better and the ability to do new things. I want to wish you a happy birthday. Please celebrate your birthday with a wonderful activity with those you love. Now that's a celebration!

    Nuts!

I'm the day before you. Personally I'm not risking seeds, nuts..... Any type of thing that might wedge into the internal suture line. I'm on pureed foods for another week, then soft foods for another 2 weeks so I don't forsee nuts or seeds in the near future. Check with your team before you have any.

    What to eat

What about getting a cooked rotisserie chicken and making meals for the week with It?
  18. Agree way too many carbs. A lot of us are carb resistant. Check the sodium on the old shakes too. Could also be retaining water.

    Liquid Dieters

Are u pre or post surgery
  21. I am 3.5 weeks post surgery. When I decided to do this, I made the decision to continue with my typical life functions, I do the shopping, cooking for the family, have people over for dinner, make food every night for my son to take to work, go to restaurants, go to peoples houses for dinner... Through it all, I did what I had to do for myself, while continuing enjoying functions with friends and family. I ate for whatever phase I was on. Last night I went to my nephews for dinner. I told him ahead of time I'd be bringing my shake and not eating. He was fine with that. I sat at the table, drank my shake and enjoyed the company. At restaurants, I order soup or a side of refried beans and mash it. I went to Japanese restaurant and ordered Miso broth. This is a life decision and the purpose is for life to go on and get better. I also know that these are all phases that will eventually lead to a more typical way of eating socially of course with the needed and expected adaptations. The only phase that I didn't do the norm, was for the 5 days after surgery. I was sore and very tired. I took that time to rest and heal. Day 7, I cooked for my son's birthday celebration including birthday cake and people having drinks. I had broth. I did the cooking and serving and let them do the dishes????. I'm sharing this with you to support you in knowing you don't have to give up time and experiences with friends and family. They will be there for you especially when they see your commitment to yourself having a healthier, happy life with them. Best wishes to you. You can do it!

  23. Many restaurants have seasonal soup now like butternut or pumpkin soup. Call a few places locally and see
  24. I just made chicken and salsa. Sliced breast very thin. Put in plastic bag , shake a lot of garlic, Adobe, pepper and shake bag. Put small amount of oil in fry pan and brown each side. Cut up and put in magic bullet add jarred salsa and fresh cilantro and puree. For moisture I added a little almond milk.
