    Protein soups

Valentine I'm currently making the bone broth in the crock pot. I bought the nutritional yeast in health food store. Do you add the yeast into the broth while it's cooking or are you sprinkling some on top when ready to eat. The person in the store wasn't able to answer.thanks Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op and I'm worried

I asked again about protein today and was told no. Tea, Crystal Light and water. I'm feeling very weak. I'm surprised there are such big differences in practices. Maybe I'll start the protein on Saturday. Thanks everyone

In my case, I contacted the insurance company myself and got the denial reversed immediately. Good luck with everything, I know its very frustrating.

    Frustrated!

Have you been approved by insurance. Unless you're self pay, they cannot move forward until you have a letter from insurance approving the surgery. Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

    Stretching stomach in the beginning

I know a person who has the surgery 3 years ago and although much smaller than prior to surgery, he has regained significantly. I asked my surgeon about this specifically and I have done a great deal of reading on the subject. According to both, after surgery a person, after healing, who consistently over eats can stretch the stomach pouch. All of the advice given is sound, small bites of small amounts of the proper food at the right time. Good health everyone-where in this together. Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App
  18. Maybe you could cook meals now and put in freezer bags for them. Using the slow cooker is a great way to make large quanities. It did that due to commuting when my kids were young. It worked really well. Just label each bag with the food name and date. Good luck Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App
  19. My understanding is that its considered medicinal due to the fact that the bones are cooked for a minimum of 24 hours and up to 72 hours so that the bones disintegrate reaping the benefits if all the collagen, amino acids, Protein, glycine, chondrotin.... I'm going to look more into it. I'll share what I find for anyone who is interested Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App
  20. Has anyone tried medicinal bone broth after surgery. This is the bone broth that is cooked for 24 hours dissolving the bones and veggies if included, straining and drinking. It is supposed to be very beneficial. Please let me know. Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App

    Appeal assistance

I appealed with statements from my other doctors making it a medical necessity. If you have other conditions get a letter of medical necessity from each one, cardiologist, General dr, endocrinologist, orthopedic..... My appeal was won fairly quickly. 24. I was banded 8 years ago. Although I have kept off some weight, I have been yo yoing(spell check) since then. I am doing the revision to sleeve on 9/13. I am still obese and my life and health are severely limited by my weight. I went back to the same practice that did the band and I think that's as a good decision. Good luck to you.
