  1. @@NewNewMe, thanks for the support! I feel like all I do is eat or think about eating now! I am going to rethink my Protein options this week. I have been eating a lot of eggs because they are easy and I do not have trouble with them, but honestly they aren't very high in protein so methinks I need a new choice!
  2. @, thanks! I would *love* to get rid of one of my shakes, but try as I might, it seems the only way I can get in all of my Protein. I will double down and skip eating eggs and see if I can get more "real" protein in. Thanks for the support!
  3. @@SWEETTEA, I knew what you meant! I had the DS, so I essentially have a "banana" rather than a "thumb". Thanks for the support.
  4. @@catwoman7, Thanks for the encouragement! Congrats on your accomplishments as well!
  5. @@James Marusek, Thanks. For the last week, I have been diligent in getting my Protein and fluids in. I have taken my Vitamins religiously since the month prior to surgery. All I know is that the clowns that say this is the "easy way out" are delusional!
  6. All, thanks so much for your thoughts. With the DS surgery, I was taught I would not be able tolerate fat and to Kerri my fat intake under 10 grams per portion. Regarding sugar in my Protein shakes, the unjury shake has 100 calories with 3 grams of sugar. The Premier Protein Shake has 160 calories with 1 gram of sugar. For general information, I'm 5'6" and currently weigh 338 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Kristen, Thanks. I'm trying to be patient and optimistic. I only weigh once per week but I guess I need to change to twice a month. The surgeons were expecting me to lose about a lb a day, so it's hard not to feel disappointed Anna look for what I could be doing wrong! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Kristen, I have severe neuropathy, which makes exercise difficult. That said, I am a lot more active than I used to be! The back pain I had before has lessened and I'm able to do things I have not been able to do for years (like go to the grocery store). Is 27 lbs in nearly seven weeks considered good? My surgeons were expecting me to lose more by now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hey y'all. I recently posted shortly after my July 18 surgery thinking that perhaps I made a mistake. I am no longer thinking I made a poor decision, but am so frustrated I could scream. After losing about 20 lbs the first month, I stalled for three weeks. I was struggling with meeting my Protein and Water goals due to travel and a few other issues so I increased to my recommended intake (80+ oz of water and 100-120 grams of protein) and broke the stall, losing about 7 additional lbs. Yay, right? Well, after a week I'm stalled again. I spoke to the Dr's office and was told if I don't lose anymore weight in the next three weeks, to see them and they will possibly order an endoscopy. I read the post on www.dsfacts.com about glycogen stores and it makes sense, but how many times will this happen?? I know everyone is different but I feel like I would have lost more weight if I had skipped surgery and just stuck to a low carb diet. Here is the link to the article: http://tinyurl.com/z4bsxew What am I eating? I have three Protein shakes a day (one Premier Protein and two unjury shakes) and I will choose from the following: -Scrambled eggs with a tbsp salsa -Tuna salad made with onions, seasoning and a little light mayo -Egg salad made with onions, seasoning and a little light mayo -chicken salad made with onions, seasoning and a little light mayo -Low fat refried Beans made with a little salsa, low fat cheese and onions -Low fat chili with low fat cheese and low fat sour cream -hummus -low fat cheese I only drink unsweetened iced tea (sometime I add splenda), Powerade zero or water. What can I do?? Any ideas? This is driving me to distracting! Thanks in advance for reading this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Did I make a mistake?

Thanks, y'all. I guess I failed to mention I had the full DS. On my surgery date, I was 365 (at 5'6"). I honestly felt I had no other choice. Like @@Harsha mentions, I did have some pretty serious pain for two days after surgery...I thought I was having a heart attack. The bulk of that has subsided to a level I can handle. Walking is difficult as I have pretty severe neuropathy (thanks, Type II diabetes!) and my endo has me off most of my neuropathy meds until my glucose stabilizes. I'm hoping once that happens, I can get to moving. I also realized my Drs aren't the best, even though one of them is the president of the state bariatric society. Thanks for all the assurances. I'm sending each of y'all a neck hug! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Did I make a mistake?

OutsideMatchInside, Thanks for the response! I'm very glad you never thought you had made a mistake. Normally, I have an EXTREMELY high pain level (no pain meds after Achilles tendon transplant, wisdom teeth taken out, etc). I'm drinking as much as I can, even if it's not Water. Thanks for the input! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Did I make a mistake?

Ok y'all, seriously... How long after your surgery did you stop having this thought?? I had surgery a week ago. The pain pills I was on (hydrocodone 5/ acetemen 325) hasn't done poop aside from make me nauseous so I stopped taking them. Called the Dr and was told they'll discuss when I come in on Wednesday for my follow up. Ugh. I literally look like a giant bus came and punched me in the pooch, y'all! Water tastes differently to me now and where I was getting 200+ oz a day in before, I'm doing well to get in 20 now. I drink Powerade zero and get at least 75 oz if sugar free fluids a day, but I know it's not the same. Protein is a joke. Taking meds is a joke. The idea of swallowing anything makes me feel ill. I'm doing well to get 50 grams of protein in as well. I realize I sound like a giant whiney butt, but will this go away??? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
