And a coordinator is NOT a medical professional. He/she should be reprimanded for even giving this practice the slightest nod.

I would guess a good percentage of us were able to fight off the urges. That's not condenscending, that's fact.

Lol thanks and yea we tried walking her but she just sits there she walks when she wants runs when she wants even if we leash her up to go outside which we haven't done in years she will lay there and not go to the bathroom just mopes lol I swear the bull part of the name is for bullheaded lolthats her favorite spot lol SPOILED!!!

Once I was told that the sleeve make heartburn a lot worse that answer my question right there I did not want to have heartburn waking me up in the middle of the night to the point of puking nor did I want heartburn to make me puke after having surgery that's pretty much how I decided to go with the bypass

No I understand, I didn't chew in carbs by the way, I've chewed in pieces of fruit, and some lunch meat and chicken. I don't really struggle with bread. My coordinator didn't tell me hey chew your food she said if o absolutely couldn't resist or beat the urge to help me during the transition I could do it but not to pass anything. Gum is helping my chewing needs right now

Because the point of the pre-op liquid diet is to shrink the size of your liver so as to reduce the risk of injury to your liver or having to go to an open surgery, I feel it's super important to follow the preop instructions to a T. We might want to cheat but you have to understand that now and after the surgery cheating is a danger to your health.
No judgements from an and only support. The last thing anyone wants is for the surgery to go poorly or for the doctor to say they can't do the surgery because you didn't lose enough. It's happened to many sadly.

I would make sure you're mentally prepared for post op. I'm not sure what your circumstances were, but you did make a choice to eat off plan. Pre-op that can be a slip up, post-op that can be extremely dangerous. Leaks are real.
I suggest you watch the surgery on youtube so you can see just how raw your stomach will be. You will have to make hard choices regardless of circumstances. Make sure you set yourself up for success.

Some people just don't realize you are given a plan for a reason they think bc they can tolerate well let's try it bodybjustbwent through a lot and as a nurse I'm just amazed that people don't sit back and think about everything they're stomach has just gone through. And honestly if my doctors or NUT did not go over the post op plans I would NOT have had my surgery through them my doctors office explained everything a few times and also told me no matter what questions I have to not hesitate in calling them!!! I would not have gone through with a plan that I was so unsure of the stages afterwards let alone wasn't given instructional information on. Did you have any type of nutrition classes? Or booklets given to you I was given packets several of them two books and a folder of papers all which explains step by step and not only was I given them but we went over them one on one page by page for 6 months!!! I'm just baffled by this. I would definitely not touch anything but liquids tho till you get in contact with someone and maybe look for a different surgeon for after care that can explain more if they didn't go over any of that info Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I heard it's best to sleep in a recliner the first few days. I haven't had my surgery yet tho scheduled the 22nd lots of luck on a speedy recovery and pounds shedding fast!!

I keep getting asked how much I've lost and how much I now weigh and what weight did I start at I've never told anyone except my husband and on here I'm just not comfortable answering it as these ppl fat shamed me and just want to know so they can gossip I won't tell I just say a lot and when they still say well I know but how much I repeat a lot and if they dare ask again I say it's not up for discussion it makes me nauseas that I'm past 6 months post op and it's all ppl want to talk about when they see me as if there are no other topics to discuss especially my sister and boss sister is " suddenly so proud of me for losing weight after all this time " apparently even though I've been a good person for 47 years cleaned up her messes time after time raised her child for 4 years helped her escape her abusive husband never been arrested held a job my entire life never in any trouble "finally" I'm worthy of her approval? Hmm was worthless when fat though and saved her ass so many times and never asked for or expected a damn thing in return yeah your welcome! Thank you for for condescending " approval"

I talked myself out of it five years ago I'm finally getting ready to have my surgery on 22 November and wish I would've talked myself out of it then and now there's not one thing that could talk me out of it within five years I put on over 50 pounds health got worse and that all could have been avoided. As was already said think of how far you have come and why you wanted this.
