I would opt for conversion to bypass instead

    Pre Op procedures Self pay

They absolutely should! Just need the doc to use diagnosis code other than morbid obesity.
  3. That is the "discount" they give self pay pts. They know insurance will pay more so they charge more. It's not right but that's the way it is. Luckily you won't have to pay that $27,500. They will most likely write off the remaining $10k.

    No weight loss

Shouldn't be an issue! They look at compliance. So if you are sticking with diet and exercise or not.

    Peer-to-Peer tomorrow

I would think the coding was wrong too! Home sleep study should slide right through based on obesity alone! Check on that with MD office. Have them add anything that will help (daytime sleepiness, snoring, fatigue)

    Approval Date So Far Out

They usually have to give a "dummy date" for the insurance. That can be changed.

Obamacare ins. Do you have to wait a year....

Be careful. Some of those Obama care plans do not cover bariatric surgery. I live in Ohio and our plans do not

Scale going up a little by little.....

Agree with everyone. Check in with your team; get in the exercise, fluids and protein. No eating out, no snack foods. [emoji6]. You got this.
  9. It is not wise to have surgery outside the US. What standards do they follow for safe outcomes? They don't, because everyone goes back home and they don't have to deal with it. Have it here, buy insurance on the procedure (BLIS) and stay safe. Also: follow up with a good team helps the wt loss. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
