I was sleeved on the 15th

    I'm freaking starving.

Okay... I'll be honest.. not really something I'm proud off but you know... I'm sure most of us been there My two weeks will be Thurday and on Christmas night I snuck a tiny chicken wing that was part of a tiny oven stuffer lol... I wanted to test the waters and see what the pain might be like... you know to maybe help further deter me even touching solids until it was time for me to So anyway... I made sure to take tiny tiny bites and to eat very slow let alone the fact that I had to chew for 3 and a half years and for the most part... it went down easy for the most part... stomach was a but hesitant but I had no issues... the amazing thing was that I was full! I took a generic GasX pill after for precaution and everything passed like it should I planned to fully admit this to my team for my post op surgery appointment tomorrow.. I'm sure they gonna cuss me out

and heating pad or hot packs will help when you are sitting or laying down. But walking is the best thing you can do for yourself.

  7. Hey guys... I'm bout almost two weeks post op, I was sleeved on 15th and just found rather difficult to post my progress while I adjust to the procedure First let me start off that I had some complications and had to spend some additional time in the hospital, after the surgery I spent my regular planned recovery time of 3 days at Pennsylvania Hospital Bariatric wing and then I went home Sunday the 19th.. started my fluids and Protein and that's going fine I guess.. it's just that I'm all over the place with getting my fluids and protein in as in theirs no schedule. So regarding my complication... it seems that every time I stood on my feet and moved to the other room... my heart rate shot up to 140-160 and I was short of breath. Made a doctors appointment and I was admitted to the ER and put under observation and had a cat scan done because I had the symptoms of a blood clot or pulmonary embolism but the scans shows I had a hematoma where my sleeve is and the cause of that was from my blood thinners. So I guess the heparin was working a little too good because of the blood thinners and whatever blood vessel that were cut and still healing was the cause of the bleeding. I came home on Christmas Eve Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. Hey guys For those that are post op... Or looking to be prepared like I am when the time comes Royal Sports Ultra Clean 100 makes an awesome powder based Protein shake... And it's really good! I mix 2 scoops of powder with 16 oz of vanilla almond milk... That's over 40 grams of Protein, 360 calories, 7 grams of fat, 32 grams of carbs, and 14 grams of sugar Not too bad right? I guess you can lobb off 30-40 calories, reduced the sugar to 0, and prolly less carbs if you used unsweetened almond milk The only con I see is that it has Sucralose in it and: But if you are taking your Vitamins like you are supposed to... I don't see a problem. I'm taking the jar to my surgeon to see what he has to say about it on Tuesday when I get my upper GI and other crap done Sent from my BigNorm's iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hey guys My name is Norman.. I'm 25 years of age and I'm starting my pre-op Bariatric surgery (sleeve) journey. My hospital where I'm having my surgery is the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.. My surgeon will be Dr. Noel Williams (head of department) and my first appointment is scheduled for 07/20/16, I attended an informational session yesterday and I say I'm about 90% sure I want the surgery. I'm currently 5 foot 9 and 390 Pounds with a BMI of 56.6 and though I don't look like it... many people say that.. I feel/am the biggest I ever was in my life!!! this is actually the second time I reached an astronomical weight.. at 17 I reached a high of 309 accompanied by high blood pressure but some how, with minimal diet changes and labor jobs I had over the years.. I was in my 240s.. don't know but I was that low in weight and ever since 2013 and now I've reached a breaking point where I'm tired of being Obese and want to do something permanently about it! I'm not just fighting everyday temptation from eating bad food.. though I admit I say more than half my gained weight was my fault... I'm fighting genetics. My dad was 6.2 over 400 pounds and had his first heart attack at 30, throughout his 30s.. heart disease, broken ankles (weight), numerous attacks and strokes... They found him dead in his apartment on my 12th birthday.. it was assumed he died of heart failure... I'm not going out like that !!! I plan to live as long as I can so along with the lifestyle change.. I hope this story gets me there I've done alot of research and don't have any questions as of yet... I have 1, hows the pain during post op as you are recovering?
