I’m in Wellington but have not found a group here either. Online support was useful for me. Good luck. Was Thailand a lot cheaper for you? As I stated earlier I paid $19,000 in Auckland.

els reacted to DropWt4Life in How about NO vitamins?!
I think there is a lot of mixed research out there about whether Vitamins help or not. One thing is for sure though....No Vitamin will work as well as the vitamins you get from food. Food has the vitamins in the state that they were supposed to be in, and in the combinations that help you absorb the vitamins the easiest.
If your levels are good, and you are having them checked regularly.....You should be good.
One thing that I would caution about is that not all vitamins are tested for in your blood work. They might not test for Lutein, Folate or Manganese in the bloodwork, but depending on what you eat, you could still be deficient in each of these. You wouldn't know it until you start having symptoms.
    Congratulations on Getting under goal!

I'm a Kiwi and am 5 months post surgery. 25kg down, 10kg to go but holding pattern ie not lost anything for about 3 weeks. Do hope I can lose the 10kg but guess it all slows right down now? Have gone from a size 22 to 16 and down a shoe size too!

There seems to be a lot of controversy around this topic. I like an occasional soda Water with a bit of cordial (not the coke, Sprite etc canned drinks). My surgeon has no issue with this and said no scientific evidence to show carbonated drinks can stretch the stomach.

Guys, I really appreciate all the advice. To 'Dub' - your comments weren't particularly helpful. I was out walking with my husband and we bought a 6 pack of sushi to share. I am on the soft foods regime at the moment and thought it would be OK. It was a snap decision and I didn't have my bariatric notes with me and had obviously missed seeing about rice so thought it was ok. Through this forum I now realise rice is a big no no. I was not playing 'stupid games' as you put it. It was an innocent mistake. Let's be honest there is a big list of foods and dos and donts.
