Thanks for responding, We are the same height, but I weigh 63 Kgs. and am 39, and not very active. I was down to and maintaining 54 Kgs. which was comfortable for me. I agree, Keto will be temporary to start induction of weight loss again. Right now Im doing 0.9 Kcal, I think thats the right connvertion. It's misarable, so I think I will adjust. I haven’t been in contact with my Nutritionist in 2 years now from Covid. I guess there is no set limit for everyone. Thank you!

Keto is ok to give you a kickstart but there’s information coming out that it’s not a long term option. Go back to what you were eating up to when you reached your goal. Or you can slowly reduce your portion size & therefore your caloric intake until you start losing again.

The caloric point at which you lose could be lower or higher than others depending upon your metabolic rate, activity level, height., age. As I said above I maintain on 1200 - I’m not tall like you, have a smallish frame, am in my mid 50s & not very active. If I eat as much as some others do in maintenance, I’d gain. I can lose if I drop to about 900 - 1000 calories. Did you have a good relationship with your nutritionalist/dietician? You could always go back to them for some guidance.

  2. what would you recommend for Macros, and calorie intake, I had gained 20lbs back durring Covid. I was at my goal and maintained for a few years, now struggling and not seeing the results I was expecting being a Gastric Bypass patient.

Started the journey Married, drifted apart eventually, not sure how I would feel dating now. I lost so much weight and felt fat all my life, that I still see my self that way. My body may look ok with clothes, but the shame of extra skin makes me feel I ruined my body and am somehow deformed. Don't get me wrong though, I am happy with my results, and it could of been worse, I shouldnt complain.

Thinking of someone accepting me would be my biggest fear I think.

  4. Im trying to find an a typical daily calorie limit for a Woman, 4 years out Gastric Bypass. Lost 150 lbs, maintained, then covid and gained 30lbs back.

Now I need advice on how many calories I should eat to return to weightloss, and then for long term maintenance, being im so far out and was eating anything, and too much, and not having a problem till recent.

Start: 276Lbs., Lowest: 117, maintained 125lbs, Currently 140 lbs. Goal back between 117-125 Lbs.

Im also trying Keto, any advice for me is appreciated, Thanks!!!

  5. Personally I play with my Macros often. The best results for me so far has been to up my fat to 55% (60 ish G) carbs 10% (25G) Protein 35% (88G)This is for my 1000 calorie intake. I am almost 5 mo post Gastric. I had been eating more veggies and stopped loosing, so I did research and decided to give it a go with more fat and started loosing more weight and working out less. I was working out an hr a day everyday. I feel fuller now and have more energy. Read up on Ketogenic type diets for better weight loss results. p.S I DONT EAT COMPLEX CARBS, NO bread, RICE GRAINS, or Beans, lentils. Just meat, veggies, some fruit, and nuts and seeds, plus dairy.

  6. Welcome and good luck, go to GNC if you can, they usually have samples of a few products. Plus you can get great clearance deals and a $5 coupon for signing up for there free reward program. Protein tastes will change after surgery so dont buy too many you may end up hating them. I have like 5-6 big containers i dont like that im struggling to use

SURPRISE SURPRISE!! I completed everything or so I was told. Today I received a phone call saying I needed to complete 12 physical therapy visits. I'm pissed! Do these have to be done within a certain time? Here I thought I was ready for scheduling after asking if there was anything else I needed to do long ago & was told no. My insurance is Molina. Anything else I should know? SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!

I had to do mine within 6 mo. I was scheduled every 2 weeks, and I had my last appointment past the 6 mo, my insurance had to add an extension or i would of had to start the entire process over. call your insurance to see the time limit and ask for an extension if needed.

  8. I feel ya. I had the same experience. At my two week check up post op I talked to the surgeon and NUT about this. They both said not to worry. (yea.. right) they said they don't even count the first month for weight-loss and that is due to adjusting and the fact in the hospital most times they pump you with so much Fluid that you actually gain weight. They said think of how much each of those bags of fluid weigh. Plus your body may be in starvation mode. I think that happened to me. I am 6 wks post op and only lost 18 lbs. I follow the program and get my Water and Protein, I been more active, I dont eat more than 1/2 c, average 1/4 c I dont drink after meals. I been primarily eating chicken, fish, Greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, single servings cheese slices 0.5 oz each. some cooked veggies. 1-2 tbs with 2-4 oz meat is a typical meal.

They said I am doing everything right. I did how ever prior to surgery lost 65 lbs on my own. so my starting surgery weight was 218. Which they all say is not that big. Therefore will loose slower, I also was wondering if PCOS is an issue. I was taking metformin and was told to stop it before surgery. May be slowing things down.

Just think long term, over the next year you will loose weight pretty regularly. you may be on a stall, or hit a weight memory point where your body remember being that weight and wants to hold on to it. Or not eating enough, sounds crazy right? I am almost feeling like I failed @ 6wks, but have to remind my self to give my body time to adjust and try not to compare my loss with others. which is almost the hardest thing to do.

3lbs/ week is NOT slow, it is fast. I'd kill for that right now. Weight loss happens in drips and drabs...not in a straight line.

Well, I had been loosing more prior to surgery. Granted my body needed to loose more then. I lost 75lbs so far, only 15 of that is post off though. I guess if I continue to loose that over 8-9 months I may hit my goal. Its frustrating seeing ppl who lost 30-45 pounds in a month, or 100 in 3 mo. I just feel as if I am failing, I guess I need to stop comparing my lost to others. Which is the hardest to do right now.

  10. Im 35 days post op. Ive only lost about 20lbs. Worried im not loosing enough. My starting weight April 2016 was 276, surgery weight was 218 February 1, 2017. Today im at 202, what gives. Only eating 800 cal average, getting my Water and at least 60grams of Proteins. I can eat 3-5oz meals average. Plus I exercise 4-5 days for 30mins. Is this not enough, or am i on a stall from the beginning? Any advice, females who can me a mentor

  11. I had a surgery date for my Gastric Bypass on 1/25/17 at University of Washington medical center. I was brought in, but under general anesthesia, tube down my throat, Iv's in place, and catheter. I was woke up after they held a scalpel to my tummy to that left a mark, to be told they had to cancel do it they didn't have the medical stapler used in surgery and could not find one. They said this has never happened before. They had me under for over an hour before waking me up.

They scared the crap out of my Husband too, telling him they are so sorry and this never happens without getting to the point, he thought I had died. They sent me home and I just got re scheduled. what a horror. I want to sue, but because they didn't seriously injure me I cant get a Lawyer, even though there is plenty of emotional, financial, and negligence that effected me. They didn't even clean me up before kicking me out of the hospital. They left all the marker marks, Patches, stickers and what not on me.
