    The emotional roller coaster

I'm fully aware of this phenomenon as well. My awareness is what is keeping one of my employees alive at this point in time...

    Stalls-Please share your experiences

4 slices of bacon is 320 calories. It is also pretty easy to eat for breakfast. Each ounce of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage is 65 calories and 5 grams of protein. Most cheese seems to be 100-130 calories per ounce and 5-8 grams of protein. Add cheese to your current meals and have some oinker to start your day.

Sleeved this morning, journey so far.

I noticed that my posts related to my surgery in Mexico completely disappeared. I asked about it and strangely enough I never got a response even though my messages were read.@@AnaDmom3

    Not hungry and trouble eating

All right dang it! You know that ya gotta get somethin in ya! Seriously, I believe that we all have times where our bodies just aren't responding in a happy maner. I had days like that pre op too. Now that we are post op we are finally listening to our bodies. Get in some liquids or soft foods (I could really go for some pudding) and pound a protein shake if you need to.

    Todays small victory

I agree that certainly isn't a small victory. That is HUGE! Having your mind on the right track is sooooo important to your success. Congrats on mentally stomping that ice cream!

    6 months post op

Lookin goooood girl! Congratulations! We have had a rough year medically as well, 2016 can kiss my saggy ass! Unfortunately 2017 is starting off with tube in my son's ears so it isn't starting off great...
  9. I can't say anything to help you but I can say that I believe in medical tourism in Mexico. I had mine done there with a different surgeon than the ones that you are interested in and I don't think that we (my wife was my travel companion) could have been treated better.

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

I don't think you understand me. It's not just heavy lifting. You will need a caloric surplus. That is the exact opposite of where you are now. It is surprising how many calories truly uses. This is a problem that I am dealing with right now. I cannot see, to make any gains on all my lifts. But if I focus on just one chain of movement I can do it. And I am getting about 2000-2500 calories a day and 150-200 grams of Protein a day. If you are having trouble getting a heavy load up to the top of stairs, I would be focusing on that chain. If you are using a hand truck or just carrying boxes up the stairs, I would recommend deadlifts. If you are two man lifting, squats. Those are two that would be the most beneficial. There are many supplemental lifts you could do, but you would be burning too many calories. As men, we tend to let our ego or our sense of competition be our guide in the weight room. I know it is difficult, but take it slow and steady. Don't try and do too much too soon. I unfortunately do understand the calorie deficit and the lack of a surplus. I have a set of stairs at work that I started playing with by dragging about 50 pounds up the stairs to work those muscles. I would like to take it easy but unfortunately I have a crew of 5 including me when I'm fully staffed and I'm short 2 employees going into our busy season. I truly don't have an option to not do the work. Quite aggravating actually. I've been short-handed all year. Everytime I get one employee I lose another. I truly wish my company paid better and then I could retain employees.

@@LittleBill Have you been shooting since wls? I had a problem with the fine muscles in my arms. I started using one of those grip thingies and it definitely helped but I'm nowhere near as accurate as I was.

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

This is what I was told to do. I can easily lift up to 120 lbs with one hand, but I was told to do curls with 20 lbs for now, with lots of reps to tone things up. If you don't like to run, but feel the need to build your stamina, there is always this. That bear is much faster than I am! I'm definitely not a runner. That bear would be bleeding profusely from acute lead poisoning before I would be moving. My EDC is a .45 ACP, but I would be hesitant to shoot a bear with it - unless, of course, there were no other choices. All you really need though, is a .22 LR if you have someone else with you. You just have to kneecap them, and then slowly walk away. You only have to be faster than the slowest guy!

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

I definitely have the rest of my life to lose weight and I'm doing well. Unfortunately I have a job that has to be done. I'm quite concerned that in two more weeks I will be unable to get up those steps. I will definitely increase my weight lifting!

    The well never runs dry

We have a doctors here locally who runs a "pain" clinic. She was writing so many prescriptions for narcotics that she was investigated. She was suspended from writing prescriptions for narcotics so she hired multiple FNP's and she "manages" her clinic by having the FNPs fill out the prescription. All of her patients go to her knowing that they can get narcotics and Marijuana cards for a hang nail or a boo boo to their Bo Bo.

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

As far as the exercise reps, I have been doing low weight, and a fair amount of reps.

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

It is hard to say where I'm losing muscle mass from as I'm toning up quite well in my legs and arms. I feel as though my core muscles are the biggest problem because I definitely have a curved upper spine and I have been wearing a brace to correct it. Thinking about it, I have been wearing the brace about a month and I was ok a month ago and have been gradually declining since so I believe that I'm not using my "old" muscle like I used to and I need to develop new muscle. I've been averaging 750-800 calories, 25-30 carbs and 60-80 protein a day. I haven't been eating more because I really didn't want to go to 5 meals a day. Yesterday I got 1133 calories, 39 carbs and 103 protein. I will do this for a few weeks and see how I'm doing. Thanks again everyone!

    Nails or no nails

Request an ear probe instead. It will clip to your ear lobe. I use one all of the time on babies and people with poor circulation. A standard finger probe can be used on a toe as well.

    turkey bacon

It sounds like you are at the puree stage. You could do soft scrambled eggs but take it easy at first because eggs can be tough for some people. By the way, a pig is pretty much the perfect animal and there is a reason why bacon comes from a pig and not a turkey!

    Small leak

Prior brain tumor girl... That explains a lot! Just kidding, my sweetie had one this year as well. It messed with all kinds of stuff. Best wishes for having it gone for life!

    Had my sleeve yesterday!

Try something other than water. I still can't drink plain water. I drink Propel, vitamin water zero, Gatorade g2 and Powerade Zero. Typically I drink the Powerade mixed 50/50 with water.

    I am new,and I need help

It suck but we have to heal. That is the reason for the various stages. Have you tried protein powder in jello or pudding?

I would be calling the dr pissed! I had surgery out of country and the guaranteed me for life if there was any issues that they would cover it for free.

    I'm struggling with muscle loss.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I will up the protein to 100. I'm not opposed to upping my carbs. I get 7.5-8 hours of good sleep a night and I never needed a cpap. I don't mind slowing down my weight loss in favor of keeping muscle. I knew that I would lose muscle mass but I didn't think about my posture changing enough to mean that I need to develop more muscle. I'm definitely losing strength. Four weeks ago I lost an employee and I have to cover his work. I went up the steps okay. Two weeks ago on the same route I noticed that it was slightly difficult. This week it was all that I could do to get to the top step. I am changing up the muscle groups daily and occasionally taking a day off if I had a bunch of steps that day.
