    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I think mine might have been protein related. Over this past week, I've been tracking my protein intake and noticed that now that I'm tracking my numbers and being very intentional about my protein and water intake, the stall was able to break. ... Also, on another note, I was at King Soopers the other day and saw protein-infused water in the diet/exercise supplements section of the store. I was intrigued to try it out but considering it's $10 for four bottles, my attitude quickly shifted to "screw that".

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I have enough data to confirm that I've beaten last week's inexplicable weight gain. Over the past few days, not only have I lost all the weight I gained over the previous week but as of today, I'm at a lower point on the scale than I was the day before the gain started, being down 0,4 kg (0,8 lbs for the Americans here) from my lowest point and down 1 kg (2,2 lbs) since yesterday.

Well, seeing your surgeon is important because you're fearing the worst case scenario. Best case, you've helped to diagnose a problem and hopefully, it can get fixed.
  4. In order to make my water quota for the day, I need to get 900 ml more.

During daylight hours? Absolutely not! My thighs burn with the fires of a thousand evils.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

So far, I've walked about 8 406 steps today. I went to the new hospital they built (and will soon be offering bariatric surgery) to see about the plans they have for offering support groups. So far, nobody knows but I walked along the St. Vrain trail until I got to the trailhead and had to walk along Highway 119 with the prarie dogs. The heat, combined with the fact that my legs keep rubbing against each other, probably means I need to rest for a little while and wait for sundown before trying to get the remaining 1 600 steps.

Getting sleeved 8/29 - so excited!

Fortunately, I'm not. When I was a kid, I had really bad acid reflux but now, it's not nearly as bad. I am holding yesterday's weight loss, as when I weighed in today, I am still at 139 kg even. Still 1,9 kg up from where I was last Sunday but hopefully, this will start to come down.

Since last Sunday, I've gained. In fact, today is the only day in that time period when I've lost. I'll see tomorrow if that trend has broken or if I will continue to gain.

I have the opposite problem, the physical sensations of hunger are gone for me. I have to be very intentional about eating so that I get the proper amount of protein in.

I'm still having trouble with the protein bit but that's because my surgeon's office recommended that I get in 85 g of protein a day. Also, I weighed myself and in the first time in a week, I'm down. Not much, I'm still 1,9 kg larger than I was last Sunday, but hopefully, this is the start of a positive trend.

Well, my philosophy is that I just want to do a good job with this surgery. I don't want to be a failure.

Getting sleeved 8/29 - so excited!

I've been doing a bit of research on this topic since I couldn't get an answer beyond "don't weigh yourself every day" from the nurse at my surgeon's practice. I think it has to do with fluid intake post-surgery.

I've been gaining for the past week and I can't understand why.
  14. I've already provided a link to it in this thread.
  15. I like cold water, and I also like the taste of Fairlife or Promised Land chocolate milk. Though, it is getting too pricey which is a shame because it's also a great source of protein. Also, thank you. While I have no way to know that this may resolve my issue, you gave me something to try which is more than that nurse at my surgeon's practice was willing to give me.
  16. My nutritionist recommended 2.2 L of water (or fluids? I really do need to check the book) per day and I think I'm getting closer and closer to achieving my fluid goals. I was able to consume 400-500 mL this morning. I guess my objective is to try to hit that 2.2 L of water. Yeah, it was five kg of crazy in a two kg bag. Those people were drama llamas, which I guess makes sense. I mean, when I was trying to get in touch with my surgeon's office today to try to figure out what the hell is going on with my gaining, I almost broke down crying over the phone when the nurse tried telling me (yet again) not to worry about it instead of giving me a solution or an idea when a solution might be necessary.
  17. I'm not sure but I know my water intake is increasing. And as for the... lady of the month, being a transgender woman, I don't suffer her visits.
  18. Yeah, I'm a little over two weeks out and I've been experiencing a bit of weight regain since Sunday.

I know, right? I have an opportunity to get to my goal weight and I'm not here to scréw around. I have a Withings Smart Body Analyzer and I track my dietary intake using MyFitnessPal. I know it's easy to lose sight of the big picture when weighing one's self daily but it adds data points on the bigger picture as well. Those data points, like this surgery, are tools to cracking the problem of my weight loss.
  20. In the last 1h40m, I've had 750 ml of water. Wonder how that works?

  21. And I, for one, won't defend someone being an asşhole. That's when it becomes unacceptable.
  22. Yeah, so far, no one has attacked me for being transgender or falsely accused me of being a man or something like that. So, it's still better than the society at large.

I'm still up 1,7 kg since Sunday. I'm not sure why, but I just phoned my surgeon's office and do you know what the nurse there told me? To be patient, to wait until my six-week check and not to weigh every day. SCRÉW THAT. I'm proactive, darn it! She even said that during our conversation this morning. She didn't give me ANY useful advice. She didn't even tell me at which point this should be a problem.

Yeah, I can have higher quality proteins. I was in the hospital two nights... for reasons I'm not quite sure of. I got up and walked around the surgical unit several times, I had clear and solid liquids... and I got out so soon, I actually beat my friends who were coming down from the mountains. I was so glad to have the number for the friend who was house sitting for them and able to get out of the hospital that morning. I don't get a chance to move on to solid foods until the six-week point.
