Actually, some of the meanest people I've met loudly proclaim that they know Jesus.

I believe Duke accepts patients who have had bad outcomes from other doctors and who need revision. They are top notch.

At 2 weeks out, banana was on my food list.....BUT only a 1" piece, mashed. My program stresses here are the portions, don't eat more than that til we say you can eat more, end of story. Plus we were warned that bananas are very high in sugar and can cause dumping, so proceed with caution.
Just because bananas are allowed on your program, does that mean they want you to keep eating as much banana as you want?
This is where I think it would be hard to be a NUT, bc you can give people an inch and they can take a mile.

Tomorrow is my RNY and I will think of you and your success as I drive to the hospital in the morning.

I find that I appreciate cooking even more and enjoy it just as much. I am just much more mindful about what I cook, how I plan it, portion it, etc. I promised myself that if I could eat only a little bit, then EVERYTHING I put in my mouth will be delicious, no more just eating whatever is available and easy. So this makes cooking and eating more special, honestly.
And buy yourself that new cookware. It's a joy to use beautiful tools to make the food that you love. And you will find so much to love after surgery, I promise.

If you don't even know if you are getting in your fluids and Protein, does that mean you are not keeping track? Like on paper or an app?
We can't guesstimate what we're doing in the early stages, the stakes are way too high. You didn't work do hard to get through pre-op and surgery to let things slip now bc you weren't tracking the ONLY things we're supposed to be tracking: liquid, Protein, exercise.
And I fear that crunchy sunflower seeds are far far down the line.

Consider finding a good therapist for *you*. Being afraid of surgery risks or change is one thing; openly preferring a specific body type and suggesting he will reject you if you deviate from his wishes is dangerously close to saying, "I prefer victims I can control." He either cares about you or he doesn't - your weight shouldn't change that.
I have an awesome husband now, but I waded through my share of users and losers to get here. I wish I had gotten help figuring them out sooner. You can do this

The others have already said it may be your boyfriend's fear of being left for greener-pastured men. If he's obese, it may also be that he doesn't want to be left alone in terms of losing his eating partner.
Regardless, this has little or nothing to do with him. Your life, your body, your health, your self-image, your mirror. No one else has a vote.

Today marks one year since I had my sleeve done. This year has really just gone by so quickly and my life has changed so much in the last year. A year ago today I was 319 lbs and wearing a size 26/28 in pants. I didn't have any real medical issues yet but I knew it was just a matter of time before they would start. I was getting to be on the border of high blood pressure and I knew that I would also likely end up diabetic within a few years if things didn't change. My joints were hurting all the time and my back would spasm with pain. I had thought about having surgery for a long time but prior insurance wouldn't cover it and I had no way to pay out of pocket for it. I changed jobs a few years ago and found that it would be covered finally. I saw my surgeon for the first time in July of 2015 and was sleeved September 28th, 2015.
In this year I have lost 157lbs and as of this morning weigh 162lbs and wear a size 10/12!!!! I have had many other changes and challenges this year that have tried to sabotage my success but through it all I have had to keep reminding myself that I have to do this for me and that I have to keep doing what I know is right and will carry me through and keep me healthy.
    My stats are as follows:
    Heaviest weight ever: 376lbs
    Surgery weight: 319lbs
    Current weight: 162lbs

gina171 got a reaction from goaldigger33 in Thought I had to do 6 month MSWL but apparently not?
Happened to me too....2 different surgeon offices told me I had a mandatory 6 month wait bc I had United HealthCare. Turns out my employer fully funds their own health plan and makes their own rules, and required no wait....they just use United HealthCare to administer the plan, they just run and manage our paperwork. Had to ask the surgeon's office to pls pls call and check my plan specifics, and they were surprised to find I had no wait, even though I carry a United HealthCare card.
I was able to have my surgery within 35 days of my first surgeon appointment.
