BMI of 21 getting gastric sleeve... thoughts?

I think of myself in my reply because as a youth I had serious eating disorder issues. So at age 55 I will tell you that over all those years it has been my experience that on evaluation you might best look within and recognize the demons that cause us such problems. Self abuse is not the answer, rather Love the skin your in and Love the secret person of the heart. As we age we start to realize our real health is most important. Value that and the person who does is always Content! You need to find contentment and learn to maintain what you have right now! BMI is darn good! See a nutritionist who will help you maintain it. Too thin and you will look emaciated and wrinkled. Prunelike Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Underactive thyroid and weight loss

I'm 5 months post, I've lost 40 lbs so far, and I had my thyroid removed. My doctor told me the surgery would be a perfect fit. And it has worked for me too! It has helped my energy levels so much. I'm down to my old clothes size which is what I was when I was younger. Anything more now for me is sprinkles. I'm feeling fantastic! I take Natures Thyroid which has all the hormones not just T3. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Question about pain pump

Don't sweat it, the first day the hospital gives you a pain pump right out of recovery. After that you use it as needed. By day 2 your on meds taken by mouth. And discharged with a script. You got this! I took Tylenol without any narcotic just to see if I could deal. I could during the day and took the pain pill at night to sleep. Walking helps the discomfort the most! 13. Hi there! My surgery was 6/30 and my husband and I like to eat out. So we've gotten used to meal negotiations. Example: Red Lobster I ordered the ultimate feast which consist of steamed crab legs and lobster tail. Fried shrimp and a scampi. My husband ordered his typical NY strip. I ate the crab meat and tail and he finished up my fri d shrimp and ate my veggies I didn't. I've seen many on here say It's a challenge to eat out. Some times I just take home what I don't eat. Have it for a couple more times. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Resturant Buddy

FYI low carb is important, but my nut pointed out that there is great nutritional benefit in baked sweet potatoes. So don't be too wary I eat 1-2 tablespoons at a time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

  19. I got lazy and ordered wonton soup broth, and egg drop soup. And added Protein powder (flavor less) and strained out lumps. The broth thinned out the egg drop a little and it still had protein. It tasted heavenly. Home made bone broth helped me with healing. Don't go over board friends. Inside of one week you'll be moving on to the next phase. So don't over buy, you'll get board. My staple now is Oikos triple zero yogurt. My surgery was 6/30. Purée was great and I wouldn't worry too much about sodium. Your flushing electrolytes with the Water and Fluid intake. Your eating so little so enjoy what little you do eat. No point in deprivation. I ate purée of meats I cooked for my family. It was thinned with broth, but flavor was good. Random Thought/Question

So far My restrictions are my own, and are new ones dictated by my personal new hankering's and what my sleeve will tolerate. I do crave chocolate occasionally. I satisfy it with a square of dark chocolate. Or a sugar free fudge pop. With no real issues. It's trial and error. I've had a cheese steak sub. A couple bites really but if you crave it, eat it. I'm good all the time, so the occasional goody keeps you on point! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
