    Any Newbies in Maryland ?

Test before surgery were sleep study, upper GI scope, I had a full eval with cardiologist, physical with PCP, chest X-rays, abdominal ultrasound, blood work. Psych eval was an insurance mandatory requirement. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I tolerate seafood pretty good. Much better than chicken. Neptune salad with a little old bay is a favorite of mine and is pretty easy on my stomache. Lobster salad is pretty good also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any Newbies in Maryland ?

@@goaldigger33 @@chycky My surgeon was Dr. Nain. I can honestly say that my experience was great working with the staff at Inova Fair Oaks. Dr. Nain is caring and took his time to explain the different procedures and answer questions. He has a nice disposition and is approachable. The coordinator Pam is wonderful and is always gracious when answering questions. Overall the staff in the office were all helpful and contributed to the great experience I had. They are professional, caring and helpful. Good luck goaldigger33 I think you will be pleased. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@Beautiful 1 welcome to the losers bench. Staying hydrated is important. Sip a little as much as you can. I found for me to get the Protein in immediately after surgery I split my protein into four smaller drinks per day. I also found my taste had changed and tried the Syntrax nectar Fuzzy Navel. As far as the Multivitamins I struggled with the bariatric Vitamins and ended up switching to Flintstones complete which I still use to date. Congrats and good luck to you! 12. Maxi skirts and dresses are my best friends right now. I am not investing in clothes just yet until I have to. I am going to soon have to buy a smaller bra ( did not see that coming but I will take it.) @KristeLe and @"theantichick" chuckles about the uniboob. I just had to order new sports bras for workouts (a size smaller .) the uniboob is terrible in a bra to big. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Good morning, Squad:

First off this is a great thread! What are challenges you're working through right now? I am still dealing with some back issues but they have improved greatly since surgery and I anticipate that improvement will continue. Areas of improvement? I am learning to be a better me in a positive way. I take more time for myself i.e. take a lunch break, take time to pack things I need to get through the day, I am investing into myself (hobbies.). It has been cool because the fam is supportive. I have also improved in getting my Water and Protein in and this has been great. How about wins? I think a win for me although still relatively new with the sleeve I am still excited about having gone through the process and seeing the weight come off. I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear for a long time. Oh I can also cross my legs again! I am a licensed to be a Zumba instructor and may have a gig in the fall so I am really working to get back my workout stamina before surgery....I completed an intense hour long workout session this past weekend and it was a confidence booster but I pretty rested the rest of the day. 20. When I started my weight loss journey I was an avid walker and today I still enjoy putting on my headphones and walking. I also participated in some group exercise classes at the community rec center. I eventually found a small gym/studio that I joined. It has been great in that I can work out on equipment, get personal training, and take specialty group exercise classes, they even bring in speakers for some health and wellness sessions. Overall I like the sense of community/comraderie with being at a gym and I have found a small support group at the gym. Visit each of the gyms generally they will give you free week to try out the place at least that has been my experience. Follow your doctors guidance in regards to exercising and take it slow astounding build your stamina. Good luck with your sleeve and best wishes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
