miss_smiles got a reaction from Liz The New Me in Weight loss stall, holiday gain - KETO?
I know there are a bunch of posts already about Keto from last year, however they are really all over the place. Has anyone done Keto, OR a low carb diet that made them get out of a stall, and lose weight after that? I had gastric bypass in May, and only lost 40 pounds total. I am in desperate need of a jump start. I was thinking of doing the Protein Shake liquid diet to jump start weight loss for 3 days, and then start a low carb/keto diet. Anyone have suggestions, or any experience with this?
    Thanks in advance!

You went through this journey once, and it didn't work out - but its not the end. I feel like I have been given a second chance, so you can totally do this! Even my dad said he couldn't believe I went through the surgery again, and I told him I wasn't a quitter! I will try, and try again until i reach a goal weight, and am finally happy with myself. I am sure you feel the same!

Had my revision on May 30th to gastric bypass and couldn't be happier!!!!!!! I suggest everyone who feels the way I did to go back to the doctors, they are there to help. Screw people who shame you into thinking it was YOUR fault. I waited nearly 2 YEARS because I blamed myself for my sleeve failure. LOW AND BEHOLD, it was SURGEON ERROR! You hope and pray that you are not the 1% of this group, but sometimes you are, and it is okay. Down from 250 to 233, and couldn't be happier! Seeing the number on the scale decrease again is amazing. Not only that, my face is slimmer and its also those non-scale victories that have me so happy!

SAME!!!! I had the sleeve March 2016, just over 2 years ago, and now I am getting the bypass on May 30th. I lost about 50lbs and gained it all back and more. I too wish I had the bypass to begin with. Good luck everyone, and keep us all posted.

I eat a low calorie Protein Bar when I get the munchies. It keeps me full for a long time (usually until the munchies go away)

I'm prescribed Dronabinol for my sleep issues, so sometimes I get some munchies from them.

Stick with healthy options. Fruits, veggies, depending on your craving. Just really keep yourself in check with portion sizes and really hammer that Water intake as well. Having good options around is the key here. Halo Top ice creams, fresh or frozen fruits, sugar free options.

I'm a huge fan of Kay's Naturals Protein Snacks for all sorts of different "needs", high protein, low carb, low cal snacks that actually taste really good and they have all sorts of options from sweet to salty to cheesy. For when you just need to crunch through a bag of "chips".

I find a bowl of strawberries and a banana a really great sweet treat. Or yogurts with some Cacao powder on it.

No judgement here. I took an edible three weeks post RNY and it hit me like a freight train. These were veeeery mild, designed to assist with sleeping but woo-boy did my lack of a stomach and pylorus express it straight to the dome.

Anyway, once I'd ridden out the worst of it I was starving. Cottage cheese was, and still is, the best snack for the munchies for me. Mixed up with some pickles or pineapple a small 1/2 - 3/4 cup was great. The Protein is filling, the taste and texture pleasant and easy on the stomach. I think protein is the way, but knew I'd be too neurotic about taste to deal with a shake - so cheese is the way. I'm hoping I can tolerate Jerky at a stage, chomping on a bit of Biltong also works wonders when munchying but you want to be mindful of what you're eating.

Weirdly - I don't care that much for cottage cheese other times.

I've never smoked, and I rarely drank (though for five years now I've had zero alcohol). I have nothing to offer except that it might be good to find some alternative behaviors that move you away from putting things in your mouth so you don't end up mindlessly eating. I wish you all the best.

I try to go Protein 1st. It seems like if I have a slider carb or Jello it doesn’t fill me up and I ending up eating too much of the “treat”. The week of the 4th of July I stalled a bit because of too many slider foods and a few too many cocktails

miss_smiles got a reaction from Frustr8 in Does the attention bother you?
Absolutely hated the attention! I wasn’t used to it, and I would find myself socially drinking more to deal with the anxiety. It also messed me up in the head because I would always think, wow people treat me so much nicer now. Holding open doors, asking how my day is, random strangers smiling at me in the street. Is that what life is like on the other side of fat? It was glorious, until I realized all of that and then I just got depressed. Took me awhile to find a happy medium. I’m sure all of us notice things, I especially notice now people on the train (nyc mta) didn’t used to sit next to me cause I spilled over, and now they do. Don’t let it get in your head too much!! I started gaining the weight back-and things went right back to how they used to be and it was horrible. Stay positive and don’t let people drag you down. It’s not worth it.

Blended chicken veg Soup, and it really only takes 20 minutes for homemade. Buy Bone Broth, boneless thighs, you can buy pre chopped onion, celery, shredded carrots, etc. Cut up chicken, saute in a little olive oil w the onion n celery, carrots add some broth, then blend that up add extra broth bone broth. Add garlic, basil, whatever. If you want oriental flavor add touch of soy sauce and a little lemon, if you want mex add some taco seasoning add canned white/pinto Beans blended, if italian add some oregano and Tomato sauce.

A month out...I ate all sorts of stuff...not just pureed. One thing I remember giving me some relief from the tedium of mush....was the toddler meat sticks that look like little vienna sausages. They're 100 calories a jar, lots of Protein and are made to go through a delicate digestive systems. They have a little texture, but are unlikely to get you in trouble cause they're made of turkey or chicken mixed with whey.
Kinda gross to me currently.......but at the time, I remember thinking they were pretty tasty and very gentle.

pureed was the WORST stage, by far.
Best thing I found for that stage (other than mashed banana) was meatballs pureed with marinara sauce and a little parmesan. Tasted like what's left on your plate after spaghetti.
