KristenLe got a reaction from Winky7650 in How much should I be able to eat
The average banana is over 4 ozs (peeled) - which at 2 weeks out my plan suggests 1-2 ozs of pureed foods at a meal. How much are you supposed to have? Mushed/pureed foods will quickly go through your sleeve and that's why it's so important to measure and stick to your guidelines. At 2 weeks - your nerves in your stomach are still not healed - so you won't necessarily know if you are full. I don't think the issue is your "pouch being too big" as much as it is you ate too much. Your sleeve isn't always going to stop you from overeating - we have to stop ourselves (stick to the suggested amounts and measure).
I believe in another post you called out someone for being rude indicating this was a "support group" - yet your replies to people trying to offer you guidance and answers were extremely rude. If you don't want honest responses - don't ask questions. We've lost too many experienced, successful folks on this forum because of these types of posts and that's not good for any of us.

KristenLe got a reaction from ava32 in How is your weight loss going?
It depends on your starting weight. It is not typical to lose 15-20 lbs only 7-10 days out. I don't think there's a norm. Everyone is different. Don't compare yourself to others - it'll drive you crazy! Congrats on your loss so far - that's awesome.

What are you eating other than soup at lunch? I don't think 15 pounds is too bad but you definitely need a diet plan and make sure you are getting enough Protein and fluids. Do you have a nutritionist you can meet with? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

@@Qujazmaine October 15th is in 3 days. Do you mean November 15th? Aetna is known to be one of the more strict plans and I don't believe they'll approve you if you gained 12 lbs. I highly recommend going on a bariatric approved Protein shake and non-caloric liquid diet immediately. Drink tons of Water and avoid sodium. Gaining a few lbs can be explained by Water retention, your period, Constipation, etc. - but I don't think you'll be able to explain 12 lbs. Good luck.

KristenLe got a reaction from dvons in Deciding the Band
@@krr343 I went to the surgeon with Band in mind. He told me the same as @ that more are removed than put in these days. He also said that 50-60% of lapband patients require a secondary surgery due to complications. I'm going with the sleeve. I have alot more weight to lose than the lapband can help with too.

I don't believe that is true about Ghrelin "hunger hormone". Your body still produces Ghrelin - just in lower quantities. Be sure to take your Vitamins, drink Water and have enough Protein. This will help with your mood as well as your Hair loss. hair loss is expected but it grows back! At 320 lbs - I think you made a great decision! Hopefully you'll think so soon!

Please don't continue to chew and spit food. This is a dangerous path - it's a form of an eating disorder. Also - you can get calories and sugars just from chewing. Your stomach also starts the digestion process scan cause acid. Try drinking different temps. Be sure to take a PPI and anti-nausea meds.

@@megnun21 I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow. I'm not even bothering tracking weight loss at this point - we had a lot of swelling and Water retention from the IVs and weight can fluctuate up and down drastically during this time. Concentrate on getting plenty of fluids (at least 64 ozs) and meeting your Protein goals. Don't restrict foods - eat as your plan suggests! There's no way to compare your progress with anyone else. We all lose at different rates - and have different amounts to lose. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing - the weight will come off. It's not a race.
