    Harder than I thought....

My scale isn't moving either. I'm just silently screaming at it knowing I shouldn't be paying attention to the scale right now.

    VSG Post Op Day 5

Are you taking a PPI (acid reducer)? A few days out - it could be increased stomach acid and not true hunger. Your sleeve will also be making alot of rumbling noises (Chewbacca) that isn't hunger either. Be sure you are drinking plenty of fluids - that's most important right now. Hang in there - you'll feel better soon!

Here it is - my newbie post

@@rolosmom7 There's not enough research to fully understand how we will be post-op. I'm only counting protein and fluids right now 2 1/2 weeks) but could only meet protein with supplements (shakes or unflavored protein powder). Why don't you try foods with protein that may not be as filling (yogurt, egg salad, tuna, baked fish) and see if you can eat more frequently. Gaining 2 lbs is not unusual - could be water retention (too much sodium), your period, constipation, etc. 45lbs in 5 weeks is great - I could only hope to lose that much! Congrats!

    Just had surgery 11/1

Congrats! Just concentrate on fluids right now. That's most important. Walk and move around to get rid of the gas.

    Harder than I thought....

Glad all went well! I felt the same way - what the hell did I do??!!! By day 4 - I was already much better. Walk as much as possible and take anti-nausea meds!
  7. Oh my...that's scary. Please call your surgeon asap. They need to confirm a pregnancy. It's very early and with your hormones high which is common after WLS - you need to be sure you are truly pregnant. Best wishes!!!

    Post op depression

Hormones have you all out of sorts. Drink more fluids and just apologize to your family.

    Clothes

@@hudjess Buying pants for $3 seems like a no brainer. I started to store my summer clothes with the same fears - what if... I went through my closets right before surgery and got rid of a ton of winter clothes that damn well better not ever fit again. I kept some that I can get away with wearing for a little while but most was given away. I haven't bought any new - other than a few jeans I scored at Salvation Army. Don't get alot - you may skip sizes.

    Isopure ready to drink?

@@vannababyy22 Go it GNC and buy one to try it. They are very strange! I couldn't stand the aftertaste.
  11. The largest incision is where they removed your stomach so the muscles and nerves had a significant amount of trauma. It's normal to be sore. Call your surgeon to confirm though.

    Lumpy port site

I'm not a LapBand patient but several of my incisions have hard lumps under them. The Dr said this was normal - that healing tissue will harden before softening. Maybe it's the same for your port site.

    Gerd

Did they prescribe a PPI? This is normal following surgery but should be treated. There's no need to feel like crap.
  14. Probably. Maybe not period related but heard others talking about their stomachs were sore at 4 weeks.

    After surgery

That's one thing on my discharge papers that says go to ER.

    Changing to pureed help

Refried beans with cheese and sour cream, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta bake, sugar free pudding, scrambled eggs, egg salad...

    2 weeks out !

It's very common. 28lbs is slot of weight to lose - your body is adjusting. Just stick with the plan. Stay off the scale!
  18. Very normal. You can fluctuate a good amount from your period. Keep on plan - push more fluids and it'll drop again.

    STARVING

Thanks for the advice, I had a few more meals (2oz each) today because I was so hungry, but feel discouraged about going over the 600 calorie goal. Protein and fluids! I have found refried Beans filling. I add a little cheese and sour cream. I am putting GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder in my food too. I can't stand shakes.

    Slow Weight Loss

Avocado, nuts, olives, peanut butter (fats). Veggies and fruits, quinoa (carbs). 50lbs at 3 months is alot considering your lower BMI. I'd be thrilled with 50 lbs at 3 months and I started higher than you.

    STARVING

It's still very early. That's not a lot of calories if you're doing 2 shakes a day. What are you eating? My plan suggests 4-6 times a day (only 2ozs right now). I can't really say I'm hungry. I'd increase fluids to see if that helps. Full is not the goal - satisfied is. Your nerves aren't healed enough to be able to give you full sensations. Blend the shakes with ice and they may be more filling.
  22. KristenLe

    Fluids

Try fluids other than water if you haven't already. You need to focus on meeting Fluid goal of at least 64ozs or you'll quickly get dehydrated.

    Slow Weight Loss

My suggestion would be to increase calories with more protein, good fats and carbs and see what happens. Although, I don't think your loss is very slow for your starting weight.

    TIRED?

I'm 2 weeks out - not working yet and no children to chase around. I'm tired just thinking about your sit!
