  1. I was also stressed as hell, I barely slept 4 hours the night before the surgery! I even shed a manly tear during the car ride to the hospital. But don't worry, the surgery is actually very fast (it lasted 45 minutes for me), and except for the two first annoying and tiredsome weeks, I recovered really quickly and now I am really happy about my weightloss and I see many positive changes in my life! It's going to change many aspect of your life, and going out of what you have known for years is scary, but you will be fine! Cheers

    Sleeve or band

My mother had the band, and it was a disaster: lots of problems: acid actually damaged the band, she would throw up quite often, etc. She went from the band to the sleeve and now she is happy with it. My surgeon also said the band surgery would soon be outfashioned since it's not really effective and rarely works properly. The sleeve seems to be the best option. Good luck with everything!

    Hungry all the time!

During the first few months post-op, my surgeon adviced not to drink 30 minutes before and after the meal, maybe you should try that?

How fast do you see results

42 days post op and I have lost 35,50 pounds! Pretty efficient, but as it was said a few times, it truly depends from one person to another, and the weight loss slowed down a bit, which is normal since I restarted eating a bit more and with more variety!

    No Pre Op Diet

I haven't had a pre-op diet and it went just fine! I already lost 35 pounds and I had my surgery on the 25th of February! I just had lighter meals to get used to it!
  7. My surgery went on for about 45minutes but for the rest of the day I did nothing but sleeping!

Did everyone have a Pre-op diet?

I am Belgian and had my operation in my home country, I asked the surgeon if I had to do a pre-op diet and he told me it has no use to do so except maybe already getting used to eat smaller quantities. The operation went well and everything is fine now!
  9. Hi everyone, I am two weeks post-op, and tomorrow is my best friend's birthday. So I have a question regarding smoking pot, I haven't found many informations on the French speaking web (except doctors saying it's the devil) and this website seems to be more on point. Basically, I was wondering if it would a big problem if I had half a joint or so at my best friend's birthday now that I am two weeks out of the surgery. I never smoke cigarettes but enjoys the occasional joint twice a month or so. It does not give me the munchies, just get a bit thirsty. Cheers everyone.
